About the RoleForward Deployed Software Engineers work directly on transforming how Beacon operates. In this role, you will embed directly with our internal business units-such as Finance, Legal, M&A, and Talent-figuring out where operational bottlenecks lie and shipping agentic software directly into our core firm workflows. You will take foundational agent platforms built by our engineering teams and turn them into operational leverage for internal stakeholders.
This is a high-impact, hands-on software engineering role. You will spend your time working alongside domain leaders within Beacon to identify high-leverage workflows and deploy agentic AI tools that automate, accelerate, and scale internal processes. The best engineers will compress complex internal domain knowledge into scalable, automated workflows that increase firm efficiency.
This is not a traditional corporate engineering position. We ship production code from day one. The deliverable is a running system.
What You'll Do- Embed with internal business units. Spend time with leaders across Finance, Legal, M&A, and Operations to understand how their teams function, where manual work accumulates, and where agentic automation can unlock speed.
- Identify core leverage points. Map out key workflows-such as financial reporting pipelines, contract intake and review, deal sourcing analysis, or diligence document parsing-where LLM-native applications will create the greatest impact.
- Build and deploy agentic tools. Construct integrations, prompts, evaluations, and user interfaces to land autonomous agent loops directly into daily operations.
- Iterate and measure. Monitor system performance in production, gather feedback from team members, refine model prompts, and tune autonomy parameters for safety and efficacy.
- Standardize patterns. Document your architecture and deployment patterns so that core engineering teams can turn custom agent solutions into reusable infrastructure across the firm.
- Partner with internal stakeholders. Serve as the technical bridge between engineering and internal business teams, building strong relationships and ensuring smooth adoption of new software.
Who You Are- 1-4 years of full-time software engineering experience with strong fluency in Python, TypeScript, or Go
- Product-minded and inquisitive. You enjoy working directly with end-users, understanding operational workflows, and solving actual business problems with code.
- High autonomy and proactive execution. You thrive in ambiguous environments, take ownership of projects from concept to deployment, and adapt quickly to feedback.
- Hands-on experience with LLMs. You have built projects or applications using LLM APIs, prompt engineering, or agentic frameworks beyond simple chatbot prompts.
- Curious about business operations. You want to understand how finance, legal, and M&A functions operate at a tech-focused capital allocation firm.
- Clear communicator. You express ideas clearly in writing and can explain technical choices to non-technical partners.
Bonus Points- Experience with cloud infrastructure, data pipelines, or vector databases
- Experience building custom tooling using LLMs, autonomous agents, or workflow automation tools
