The opportunity

We are seeking a Software Engineering Consultant to join EY Canada. In this role, you will be required to offer expert advice, planning, and practical assistance to EY's clients in Software Engineering domain. This individual will be part of a diverse team of innovative and talented professionals, committed to providing top-tier consulting services to our clients. The role requires working in an Agile environment, with the ability to create technical designs for assigned user stories. The candidate should also be adept at leveraging AI tools such as GitHub Copilot and capable of developing reusable prompts for team productivity.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with a variety of Canadian clients across different industries to understand their Software development needs and objectives.
  • Designing and delivering scalable, secure, and high- performance software solutions.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams including Product Managers and Designers to define requirements, establish delivery practices, and implement solutions aligned with business needs.
  • Providing technical support for end-users, handled escalations, and maintained tools, systems, and platforms efficiently.
  • Follow EY methodologies and use EY tools to deliver seamless and compelling software solutions.
  • Stay current with trends and developments in Software Engineering, with a particular focus on their relevance to Full stack, Java, Microservices, DevOps functions, .Net, C# Python, SQL (MySQL), JavaScript, Spring boot, API Integration etc.
  • Ensure EY's quality and professional standards are maintained.
  • Collaborate with other EY teams to create integrated solutions.
  • Train and support clients during the software development process, maintaining good client relationships.


To qualify for this role you must have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Systems Engineering, or a related field. Higher degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • 1-4 years of experience as a Software Developer or in a similar role, prior consulting experience is nice to have.
  • Proven expertise in major Programming & Development languages such as Full stack, Java, .Net, C# Python, SQL (MySQL), JavaScript, and API Integration etc.
  • Good understanding or experience in Cloud & DevOps based technologies such as Azure, Docker, Git etc.
  • Excellent problem-solving capabilities and resilience in high-pressure situations.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills in English, French language skills is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Canadian data protection laws and business practices.
  • Ability to manage multiple client engagements simultaneously.
  • Willingness to travel, as needed, to meet client needs and project commitments.
