Position OverviewAs a Senior Software Engineer within PNC's Retail technology organization, you will be based in Strongsville, OH, Pittsburgh, PA or Dallas, TX.
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer - Salesforce to join our growing technology team. This individual will play a key role in designing, developing, testing, and delivering Salesforce solutions that support critical business initiatives. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on Salesforce developer with deep technical expertise, strong problem-solving abilities, and a collaborative mindset.
As a senior member of the team, you will work closely with architects, developers, business partners, and project stakeholders to build scalable Salesforce applications while following development best practices and maintaining high-quality standards throughout the software development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Development
• Design, develop, test, and deploy Salesforce solutions using platform best practices.
• Build and maintain Lightning Web Components (LWC) as the primary front-end technology.
• Support and enhance existing Aura Components.
• Develop Apex classes, triggers, integrations, and custom business logic.
• Create and maintain Salesforce Flows for workflow automation.
• Design and maintain Salesforce data models including custom objects, fields, relationships, record types, and indexing strategies.
• Develop and consume REST APIs and work extensively with JSON data structures.
Application Support & Delivery
• Participate in all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Perform unit testing, system testing, debugging, and troubleshooting.
• Ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and optimized for performance.
• Follow Salesforce development best practices including bulkification, object-oriented design, and code quality standards.
Team Collaboration
• Work within Agile delivery teams using Jira to manage user stories, tasks, defects, and project updates.
• Provide accurate project status updates and communicate challenges proactively.
• Participate in code reviews and mentor junior developers when appropriate.
• Collaborate with DevOps teams and contribute to CI/CD processes.
Security & Governance
• Implement and maintain Salesforce security models including roles, profiles, permission sets, and sharing rules.
• Ensure compliance with established development, testing, and deployment standards.
Qualifications
Technical Skills
• Strong hands-on Salesforce development experience.
• Expertise with Lightning Web Components (LWC).
• Working knowledge of Aura Components.
• Strong Apex development experience including classes and triggers.
• Experience developing Salesforce Flows.
• Advanced understanding of SOQL and CRUD operations.
• Experience building and consuming REST APIs.
• Strong understanding of JSON.
• Experience with Salesforce data modeling and architecture.
• Knowledge of Salesforce security concepts including roles, profiles, and permission sets.
• Experience with Git version control including branching, commits, pull requests, and merges.
• Strong understanding of:
○ Testing methodologies
○ Debugging and troubleshooting
○ Bulkification
○ Object-oriented design principles
Certifications
• Salesforce Certified Administrator
• Salesforce Platform Developer I
Preferred Qualifications
• Salesforce Platform Developer II certification.
• Experience working within CI/CD pipelines.
• Banking or financial services industry experience.
• Experience leveraging AI-enabled development tools and productivity platforms.

Pay TransparencyBase Salary: $86,250.00 – $158,125.00
Salaries may vary based on geographic location, market data and on individual skills, experience, and education. This role is incentive eligible with the payment based upon company, business and/or individual performance.
