Position Summary

Odyssey has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Drafter supporting the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center Attack Division (AFLCMC/EBD) at Eglin AFB, FL.

This role is responsible for advising and assisting in computer aided design and drafting, supporting the development, updating, revision control, and maintenance of detailed Technical Data Packages (TDPs) required for manufacturing and quality assurance of weapons systems and related parts. The role includes converting two-dimensional drawing packages to solid models and applying in-depth experience in geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).

Responsibilities

Duties include, but not limited to:
  • Provide expertise in computer-aided design and drafting to support engineering and manufacturing needs.
  • Assist in developing, updating, maintaining, and controlling revisions of detailed Technical Data Packages (TDPs) required for manufacturing and quality assurance.
  • Convert 2D drawing packages into accurate 3D solid models, including intricate castings, machined features, gears, and complex assemblies.
  • Apply advanced knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) to all drawings and models.
  • Collaborate with architects and engineers to collect product requirements and design information.
  • Calculate dimensions, weight limits, and material requirements to support engineering decisions.
  • Document and describe production methods and processes, including equipment and software used.
  • Produce detailed technical designs using CAD software.
  • Develop diagrams, layouts, maps, and workflow illustrations to support engineering and production activities.
  • Prepare and review sketches, collaborating with engineering teams to refine concepts.
  • Identify potential operational or design issues and propose improvements to enhance product functionality.


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Citizenship: Must be a US citizen

Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance

Education and experience:
  • Associates degree and 6 years of relevant experience
  • Working knowledge SolidWorks, Solid Edge, or other 3D CAD software

Preferred Qualifications
  • Current Secret clearance

Technical Skills
  • CAD drafting and detailed design development
  • TDP development, maintenance, and revision control
  • 2D-to-3D conversion and solid modeling
  • Modeling complex parts and assemblies
  • GD&T application
  • Knowledge and experience with military support equipment and/or metals fabrication/finishing highly desired

Interpersonal Skills
  • Ability to work with architects and engineers to gather requirements
  • Strong attention to detail supporting QA/manufacturing documentation
  • Ability to collaborate with engineering teams during design reviews

Location: Eglin AFB, FL

Travel: Minimal travel may be required per the customer's discretion (estimated 5%)

Work Environment: Onsite
