Full Job Description
We are seeking a strategic and experienced Senior Manager, Software Engineering, with 8+ years of software engineering experience and 3+ years in management to lead our software engineering team responsible for our core Order Management System (OMS) platform. In this role, you will balance operational excellence with strategic vision-ensuring our existing order processing engine remains rock-solid while leading a multi-year architectural modernization toward a cloud-native, event-driven ecosystem.

You will partner closely with Product, Retail, Supply Chain, and Fulfillment leadership to drive high-throughput transaction execution and seamless omni-channel experiences.

This individual will be responsible for setting technical direction, driving engineering excellence, managing a team of engineers, and ensuring the successful delivery of impactful software solutions that align with our business strategy.

  • Lead and manage multiple software engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and high performance.
  • Define and drive the technical strategy and roadmap for your engineering groups leveraging your comprehensive understanding of systems, tools, and applications in your area, collaborating with product leadership and stakeholders to align priorities and ensure delivery of solutions that meet organizational and product goals.
  • Facilitate the collaborative planning, execution, and timely delivery of complex software solutions and features, fostering adaptability to changing priorities and ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality software that meets evolving needs.
  • Collaborate with the product manager and stakeholders to define and prioritize the product backlog, iteratively shaping requirements and timelines within agile planning processes.
  • Champion engineering and agile best practices, operational excellence, and continuous improvement initiatives across your teams.
  • Lead and mentor a team of software engineers, fostering their professional growth through regular coaching, feedback, and the provision of opportunities for skill development and career advancement.

What you'll bring to the table...
  • Strong leadership and organizational management skills, with experience managing managers or multiple complex teams.
  • Deep OMS Domain Experience: 5+ years of hands-on experience building, scaling, and maintaining enterprise-grade Order Management Systems (e.g., IBM Sterling OMS, Blue Yonder, Manhattan Active Omni, or custom microservices OMS).
  • Omni-Channel Experience: Proven track record supporting complex fulfillment workflows, including Buy Online Pick Up In Store (BOPIS), Ship-from-Store (SFS), curbside pickup, and reverse logistics
  • Modern Architectural Patterns: Experience with cloud-native applications (AWS/GCP/Azure), event-driven architecture utilizing message brokers (Kafka, RabbitMQ, or EventBridge), REST/GraphQL APIs, and microservices patterns.
  • Deep understanding of software development processes, agile methodologies, and modern engineering practices at scale.
  • Excellent strategic thinking, project management, and execution skills.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Strong technical acumen with the ability to guide architectural decisions and resolve complex technical challenges.
  • Experience with resource planning, budget management, and strategic hiring.
