Full Job Description
As a Senior Coating Advisor you will be responsible for providing technical support to sales teams, customers and stakeholders. Perform physical inspections, condition surveys and oversee product application activities as needed. Conduct technical analysis of product specifications, conduct technical training and presentations, prepare/present technical briefings for customer and company representatives. Prepare inspection reports using digital reporting software and evaluate sales proposals to ensure they are technically accurate and consistent with the organization's quality and performance standards.

This position will work remotely and travel to jobsites when dispatched/assigned projects. Ideal candidate is located in the Gulf Coast region of U.S., however other geographic locations will be considered.

As a Coating Advisor with Hempel, you'll be on the front lines working alongside applicators, distributors, contractors, engineers, and consultants to ensure proper use and application of Hempel's products.

Working with our direct customers you will strive to understand their needs, their challenges and provide services that can support and strengthen our coating solutions, to create value that can be monetized.

You'll work closely with a team of Hempel colleagues from Sales, R&D, Customer Care, and other internal functions to deliver exceptional service to the end user.

An approachable technical expert for an excellent customer experience

In this role, you'll bring our technical documentation - Product Data Sheets - to life by offering technical advisory support on all aspects of our Hempel products. You will be an ambassador for the brand and product lines by effectively communicating the features and benefits of all our products and systems.
  • Work to ensure compliance with most recent Product Data Sheets, guide specifications, relevant technical and industrial standards, working procedures, and best painting/application practices
  • Accurately collect and record data, prepare work progress reports including testing, analysis, and interpretation of data providing feedback when necessary to relevant stakeholders.
  • Provide onsite training to coatings applicators across major segments and the Hempel's Sales teams. Educate and persuade customers about the performance of our coating solutions and value of Technical Services."

  • Generates accurate company and customer reports and distributes them in timely manner using corporate reporting tolls to efficiently and proactively communicate issues of importance for the quality/paint consumption/budget/scheduling of the project
  • Uses PPE and technical equipment responsibly and ensures equipment is calibrated, maintained and in good condition; monitors and manages project paint inventory offering timely updates to Sales front/back office to avoid possible shortages
  • Actively participate in internal and external Technical Services strategy activities by conducting surveys, troubleshooting issues, and finding resolutions

  • High school diploma/Bachelor degree
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in Coating Industry
  • English business proficiency (oral and written)
  • MS office basic level
  • General computer literacy
  • Willing to travel extensively (up to 80%, domestic and international) and with flexible schedules
  • Spanish an advantage
  • Marine coating experience is a plus
  • NACE certification is a plus
