Job Summary

The Microsoft Digital Innovation Group (DIG) provides customer-facing, pre-sales technical advisory services that help SHI customers understand, evaluate, and adopt Microsoft solutions that drive measurable business outcomes. DIG supports Microsoft-aligned sales motions through consultative discovery, technical storytelling, solution alignment, customer workshops, partner-funded engagements, and opportunity development across the Microsoft cloud portfolio.

The Solution Advisor - Microsoft is a customer-facing pre-sales technical resource responsible for helping SHI sales teams, Microsoft field teams, and customers connect business challenges to practical Microsoft solution opportunities. This role combines technical expertise, consultative selling, customer education, and business outcome alignment to accelerate pipeline development, improve customer readiness, and identify pathways for licensing, services, adoption, and long-term Microsoft platform value.

The Solution Advisor will partner closely with SHI account teams, Microsoft specialists, internal technical teams, and customers to support discovery, solution positioning, demonstrations, workshops, enablement, and services handoff activities. This role requires a continuous learner who can stay current on Microsoft technologies, translate complex capabilities into customer-ready narratives, and guide customers toward next steps that advance adoption and business transformation.

Role Description

  • Serve as a trusted Microsoft advisor by leading customer discovery, technical qualification, solution strategy, and business outcome alignment discussions.
  • Conduct customer-facing workshops, envisioning sessions, demonstrations, assessments, and partner-funded engagements that support Microsoft and SHI sales initiatives.
  • Translate business challenges into Microsoft solution opportunities and develop compelling solution narratives, reference architectures, and enablement content.
  • Identify opportunities for Microsoft licensing growth, professional services, managed services, adoption programs, and broader platform expansion.
  • Collaborate with SHI account teams, Microsoft specialists, and internal technical resources to align customer needs with Microsoft programs, funding opportunities, roadmaps, and best practices.
  • Provide technical enablement and subject matter expertise to SHI sales and technical teams, including customer qualification guidance, competitive positioning, and engagement strategies.
  • Document customer findings, recommendations, opportunities, next steps, and services handoffs within established SHI processes and systems.
  • Maintain expertise in Microsoft technologies, industry trends, competitive landscapes, customer adoption patterns, and certification requirements.
  • Guide customers in implementing Microsoft Purview, information protection, data governance, risk management, compliance, eDiscovery, and regulatory response solutions across Microsoft 365 and Azure environments.

  • 3-5 years of experience in a similar role
  • Maintain relevant Microsoft certifications, partner accreditations, and required training aligned to the role, assigned specialization area, and Microsoft program requirements.
  • Pursue ongoing professional development and additional certifications to support evolving technologies, customer needs, and Digital Innovation Group business priorities.
  • Ability to travel to SHI, Partner, and Customer Events (25%)


Preferred:

  • Microsoft Purview, Compliance, and Data Governance: Experience with Microsoft Purview, information protection, data loss prevention, retention, audit, insider risk, communication compliance, eDiscovery, Compliance Manager, Azure data governance, Data Map, Unified Catalog, data classification, lineage, metadata management, GRC frameworks, regulatory requirements, privacy programs, and legal investigation workflows.


The estimated annual pay range for this position is $100,000 - $200,000 which includes a base salary and bonus. The compensation for this position is dependent on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location and, therefore, will vary from individual to individual. Benefits may include, but are not limited to, medical, vision, dental, 401K, and flexible spending.
