We are seeking a full-time Senior Backend Engineer to strengthen the systems behind our eXactPark cloud solution. You will own backend capabilities from technical design through production operation, work across product and engineering teams, and improve the reliability and scalability of software that connects hardware, networks, and customer-facing applications.

Job Responsibilities include:
- Design, build, and operate maintainable backend services, APIs, integrations, and data workflows.
- Lead technical design and architecture decisions for backend capabilities, balancing product needs, reliability, performance, and long-term maintainability.
- Deliver secure application behavior across authentication, authorization, background processing, scheduling, caching, and production operations.
- Diagnose production issues, improve observability and resilience, and support effective incident investigation and resolution.
- Collaborate with frontend engineers, DevOps, Customer Success, and other stakeholders to clarify requirements, manage technical risk, and deliver reliable outcomes.
- Mentor engineers through design reviews, implementation guidance, and constructive technical feedback.
- Use AI-assisted engineering tools responsibly to accelerate development, debugging, testing, and documentation while maintaining sound engineering judgment.
To be Successful in this role, you will have:
- Strong PHP 8+ experience, with Laravel as the primary framework; Symfony or other modern backend-framework experience is also welcome.
- Strong experience with Eloquent ORM, migrations, relational data modelling, and MySQL or PostgreSQL.
- Experience designing and implementing REST APIs, OpenAPI specifications, and third-party integrations.
- Experience with authentication and authorization, including policies, roles, permissions, and token-based access.
- Experience with queues, jobs, events, scheduling, Redis, Horizon or comparable asynchronous-processing tooling.
- Experience with caching, backend performance tuning, production debugging, and operational support.
- Strong automated-testing practice using PHPUnit, Pest, or similar feature and unit testing frameworks.
- Proven system-design and architecture experience, including production decision-making and technical leadership.
- Practical experience using AI-assisted engineering tools as part of a responsible development workflow.
- Git and CI/CD experience.
You may also have:
- Geospatial experience, including PostGIS or QGIS.
- Experience with IoT products or systems where hardware, software, and networking intersect.
- Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript experience.
- Docker, Kubernetes (K8s), or cloud-native operational experience.
- Experience with event-driven systems, distributed integrations, or high-volume data processing.
