Full Job Description
WW+P Architects + Planners Inc. is looking for a Senior Associate to join our leadership team in our Toronto studio and support the continued growth of our planning practice. The role of the Senior Associate is to help lead our team to deliver pragmatic, forward-thinking, and high-quality plans, policy documents, reports and strategies that support our private and public sector clients. Role and Responsibilities • Mentoring and driving the growth and success of a strong team of planners at the junior, intermediate, and senior levels; • Lead projects largely independently, with minimal strategic Principal involvement as/when required; • Foster strong relationships with clients based on a reputation for trust, strategic advice, and service; • Contribute to business development efforts by supporting Principals on proposals and leading the preparation of proposals, while also representing WW+P in the marketplace at industry events, conferences, etc.; • Drive high-quality work and professional growth among the planning team; • Lead and execute exceptional work via multi-functional teams; and • Contribute positively to our studio culture through participating in events, workshops, and social activities. Qualifications • Degree in Planning or equivalent; • Minimum 11 years of experience working on urban issues in North America; experience in Toronto and Ontario an asset; • Experience managing multi-disciplinary teams, including external consultants, on large and technically complex projects; • Robust experience managing and supervising the work of junior, intermediate, and senior team members; • Capable in client management, issue resolution, and problem solving; • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, robust experience providing strategic planning advice to clients; • Deep experience with all levels of planning frameworks across a range of topics (housing, transit, employment lands, environmental, etc.). • Demonstrated success in delivering results in one or more of our key practice areas, such as: strategic planning, planning approvals, infrastructure planning and development, policy planning and studies, and master planning and community design; and • Extensive public engagement and consultation experience.
