Summary of Position:The Salesforce Administrator, Billing & CPQ is a key technical resource supporting IES Abroad's global Salesforce instance, with primary ownership of Salesforce Billing and CPQ functionality. This role is responsible for administering and supporting Billing/CPQ processes, resolving related tickets independently, and executing configuration, support, and enhancement work assigned by the Salesforce Product Owner & Support Manager.
The Salesforce Administrator, Billing & CPQ works as part of the Salesforce administration team through a shared ticketing and work management system. In addition to owning Billing/CPQ processes and tickets, this role is expected to pick up general Salesforce Administrator tickets outside their primary focus area when needed, and to cross-train other members of the Salesforce team on Billing/CPQ processes and troubleshooting.
The Salesforce Administrator must understand business processes across multiple functional areas and translate operational needs into effective Salesforce solutions that align with the overall Salesforce product strategy and platform standards.
Based on evolving business priorities, the Salesforce Administrator will assume responsibilities across the following roles:

The Salesforce Administrator, Billing & CPQ acts as a trusted partner to IES Abroad's stakeholders while supporting the broader Salesforce roadmap.
Essential Job Responsibilities & Duties:Billing/CPQ Ownership & Support- Own and administer Salesforce Billing and CPQ configuration, processes, and workflows, including quoting, contracts, invoicing, product catalogue management, payment processing, and billing schedules
- Manage payment processor integration, data architecture and vendor relationships
- Assume configuration & support ownership of invoice and quote document-generation tool
- Independently diagnose and resolve Billing/CPQ-related tickets and support requests
- Cross-train other members of the Salesforce team on Billing/CPQ processes and troubleshooting
- Support business teams in developing internal process controls and SOP documentation
- Support Salesforce-ERP integration of financial records
General Salesforce Administration- Execute Salesforce administrative, configuration, and support tasks as directed by the Salesforce Product Owner & Support Manager
- Perform core Salesforce administrative functions including user and license management, page layouts, validation rules, reports, dashboards, and automations.
- Pick up general Salesforce Administrator tickets outside the Billing/CPQ focus area when needed
- Install, configure, and maintain approved AppExchange applications as required
- Develop and modify reports and dashboards to meet the needs of global stakeholders
- Diagnose and resolve Salesforce support requests and incidents through a ticketing system
- Ensure all work adheres to IES Abroad's Salesforce Security Model, including proper configuration of roles, profiles, permission sets, organization-wide defaults, and sharing rules
Quality, Documentation & Training- Participate in testing activities for Salesforce releases and internal changes, including executing test cases and documenting results
- Maintain clear and accurate documentation for Salesforce configurations, processes, and operational procedures
- Design and deliver training materials or sessions for end users to increase Salesforce adoption and effectiveness
Process Improvement & Projects- Analyze, document, and refine business requirements
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, data quality, and user experience within Salesforce
- Participate in projects and initiatives as assigned, including cross-functional efforts
Other- Maintain regular and predictable attendance as an essential function of the position
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
Experience & Qualifications/Skills:Required- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience with Salesforce Billing and/or CPQ
- Strong understanding of Salesforce core functionality and platform best practices
- Experience building and maintaining custom objects, fields, reports, dashboards, flows, and automations of moderate complexity
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Ability to work independently, own a defined capability area, and make sound configuration and process decisions within that area while taking direction and prioritization from the Salesforce Product Owner & Support Manager
- Experience working with ticketing systems and structured work intake processes
- Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively across time zones and cultures
Preferred- Experience mentoring or cross-training other Salesforce team members
- Experience in nonprofit, education, or mission-driven organizations
- Experience with contract lifecycle management, subscription billing, or revenue recognition processes within Salesforce
- Experience using AI tools (e.g., Copilot, Agentforce, ChatGPT/Claude) to accelerate troubleshooting, debug flows and automations, or generate documentation
Education, Licenses and/or Certifications, etc. - University degree in business, information technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
- Salesforce Platform Administrator 1 Certification required
- Salesforce Billing, Order Management and/or CPQ-related certification preferred
Hiring Salary Range$85,000 to $110,000
