Position Overview
The District Director is responsible for maximizing the profitability of the retail division through creating strong relationships with cross functional partners and using these relationships to communicate the needs of the business, influence strategy and decisions, and provide timely feedback. They are responsible for staffing, merchandising, communication, operations, and creating a selling culture in the stores in their District that drives sales and creates a wow experience for our customers. This leader is to be an example of what it means to lead with intent and purpose and make sure that all Senior Store Managers and Store Managers are leading their teams that way. Stores within the District should feel the presence of the District Director through ongoing visits and touch bases, to assess/measure best in class service, the selling skills of the store team, operational efficiency and execution, and the integrity of the company Leadership Competenciesand WELDS. The District Director will provide ongoing leadership training and coaching of Senior Store Managers, Store Managers, and Assistant Store Managers. During store visits, the District Director will provide guidance in relation to leadership, selling culture and profitability, overall store standards, cleanliness, and crisp merchandising, and operational efficiency and execution, utilizing in the moment feedback and a detailed visit summary as tools for ongoing collaboration with the stores in their District. Inspire stewardship of the brand among all associates, and at all levels. The District Director will ensure the efficient and timely execution of all New Store Openings and remodels within the District.

What Youll Do:
- Drive Profitability and Efficiency.
- Collaborate with the first team (Director Group) on tools and resources needed to allow store teams to operate at peak efficiency, provide a wow experience to our customers, and maximize sales and profits.
- Actively participate in planning for future seasons to help proactively avoid any problems and to provide clarity on the downstream effects that decisions or plans will have on our store teams and on our customers experience.
- Act as gate keeper for any tasks finding the retail team to make sure the parameters of the task are realistic, timing is right, and there will be an ROI for the labor spent.
- Goals Achievement:
- Demonstrate leadership abilities in driving KPIs within the District. Primary focus on sales, profitability, ATV, UPT, Conversion, Mixed Cart, and customer capture.
- Monitor and evaluate individual/store performance in the following areas: sales and expense budgets, shrink mitigation, customer engagement, leadership and culture, and any others designated by senior leadership.
- Implement and monitor action plans to ensure the achievement of store and divisional goals.
- Inspire a selling through service and experience environment in stores that consistently.
- Leverages company selling behaviors.
- Successfully integrate the in-store buying experience with our Omni Experience initiatives.
- Sales Management/Customer Service/Selling Skills:
- Ensure all employees in the District are trained in company standards for appearance, performance, and knowledge.
- Remain abreast of competition in the market, always benchmarking best in class service, and driving to exceed customer expectations.
- Coaching managers to effectively staff and schedule to maximize sales and profitability. Monitor use of all customer service tools.
- Inspire team to achieve yearly sales growth through consistently executing our company selling behaviors, grass roots marketing, efficient operations, and appropriate merchandising.
- Human Resources/Management Skills :
- Effectively recruit, hire, train, and lead Senior Store Managers and Store Managers, while maintaining an indirect responsibility for employees and other management personnel within the District.
- Ensure managers schedule staff to meet payroll and productivity goals.
- Demonstrate professionalism when dealing with customer or employee issues.
- Maintain an acceptable turnover rate within the District.
- Provide coaching and feedback to Senior Store Managers and Store Managers on a regular basis.
- Assess the performance of Senior Store Managers and Store Managers in the District. Conduct performance appraisals and other Human Resources documentation in a timely and efficient manner.
- Personnel records for all employees in their District are being sent in a timely manner to HR partners.
- Handle disciplinary situations, including termination, as necessary and within company guidelines.
- Loss Prevention:
- Supervise all policies and procedures regarding loss prevention, security, and ensure they are followed in the District.
- Maintain acceptable inventory shortage.
- Understand and properly handle workers compensation and public liability situations/reports.
- Ensure safety of employees by identifying dangerous situations, correcting and reporting them. Merchandise Management/Visual Merchandising.
- Merchandise Management/Visual Merchandising:
- Ensure that all stores maintain merchandise presentation according to visual merchandising standards, and current floor sets.
- Understand and communicate merchandising and product opportunities to appropriate business partners on a weekly, or as needed basis.
- Assure inventory levels in all stores are appropriate to current sales trends and market needs.
- Recommend changes to store profiles when appropriate.
- Store Operations:
- Complete all required or requested paperwork accurately, legibly, and in a timely manner.
- Communicate the status of local competition and local business conditions as required. Keep Duluth Executive Team informed of any significant changes.
- Ensure that payroll is maintained within approved budgets for stores within District. Monitor all other expenses that stores are responsible for.
- Training:
- Ensure all management staff has completed and understands the necessary training to be successful in their role.
- Ensure new Store Managers are appropriately trained utilizing Center of Excellence Stores.
- Communicate changes in store policies and procedures to managers within the District and ensure that changes are implemented correctly.
- Personally follow all policies and procedures and sets a positive example for staff.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by senior management.
What Were Looking For:
- High school diploma or equivalent. College preferred, but not required - Equivalent work experience would be considered
- 5+ Years of apparel retail experience
- 5+ Years of Management experience
- Multi-Unit experience
- New store opening experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions
- Must demonstrate an understanding of business and organizational agility
- Ability to plan and organization as well as align resources to get things done
- Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship

Physical Environment & Travel Expectations:
- Travel is required.
- Sitting is required for 50% of working hours.
- Standing is required for 50% of working hours.

- Noise level no greater than casual conversation.
- Ability to perform work in cubicle workstations or an office setting.
- Work in temperatures ranging from 65 - 75 degrees.
- Ability to provide a disruption-free work environment (such as a home office) that also permanently houses your home network modem/router and the DTC-issued equipment.

Position Compensation Outline
Compensation Range: $120,000 - $160,000/year
This position is eligible to participate in the company bonus and long term incentive programs upon hire.
Compensation listed is for the full-time position at these specific locations and is based on several factors, including experience, and qualifications. Benefits and perks may have eligibility requirements and are subject to change.
