Overview

Who we're looking for

Toyota's Quality Engineering Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Quality Engineer.

The primary responsibility of this role is to Quality Engineering - Machining for V6T.

Reporting to the QE Manager, the person in this role will support QE Section Management Hoshin Initiatives while assuring customer satisfaction through complete vehicle quality. Additionally, the person in this role will support the Quality Engineering department's objective to support the Quality department to lead, manage, and coordinate activities with other departments and external organizations to accomplish KPI (Key Performance Indicators) objectives (Safety, Quality, Productivity, Cost, Human Resources, Training and People Development).

What you'll be doing
  • Lead group activities to ensure TMMAL (Toyota Alabama) completed Engine and supplied parts quality.
  • Quality Standard and inspection plan development and confirmation of execution by manufacturing and suppliers.
  • Lead and investigate internal and external Quality Engineering initiatives.
  • Understand, interpret Data analysis management and drive focus related activities that would help improve Quality KPI.
  • Support deployment of the Quality Hoshin (Management Led Strategic Planning) within TMMAL
  • Lead team activity to resolve quality problems (including field, warranty and customer satisfaction) across departments and within Toyota Affiliates.
  • Manage change points with supplier, manufacturing and design within assigned area of responsibility.
  • Lead development of kaizens and adjustments based on task complexity.


What you bring
  • Bachelor's Degree (or higher) or 5 years of equivalent work experience in engine manufacturing
  • Ability to lead a team to resolve complex engine quality problems, including cross engine models and completed overall engine investigations
  • Quality Engineering experience and knowledge in more than one area of engine functional areas: Assembly, Machining, Supplier development, Field/Warranty
  • Experience leading Supplier Quality Management & Improvement, such as focus supplier, part approval, PCR and non-conformance management.
  • Experience creating & teaching inspection process standard development and equipment implementation for quality inspection both internal and external customers
  • Experience developing and managing FMDS and/or OP milestone management (Task oriented direction)
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime and travel as needed


Added bonus if you have:
  • Experience in Powertrain manufacturing environment
  • Experience in both Machining and Assembly
