QA Engineer

Lead I - Software Testing

UST is searching for an seeking an experienced QA Engineer with strong expertise in Manual Testing, API Testing, and Database Validation.

The opportunity:
• Analyze business and functional requirements to create detailed test scenarios, test cases, and test data.
• Perform end-to-end Manual Testing across web, mobile, and enterprise applications.
• Validate REST/SOAP APIs using tools such as Postman, Swagger, or similar.
• Execute functional, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
• Perform backend database validation using SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Develop and execute complex SQL queries for data verification and reporting.
• Identify, log, track, and retest defects using tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps.
• Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and product teams to resolve issues and improve product quality.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospectives.
• Ensure adherence to QA processes, standards, and best practices.

What you need:
• 5+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance.
• Strong expertise in Manual Testing methodologies and SDLC/STLC.
• Hands-on experience in API Testing using Postman, SoapUI, Swagger, or similar tools.
• Strong knowledge of SQL databases (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
• Experience working with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Cassandra, DynamoDB, or Couchbase.
• Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries, joins, stored procedures, and data validation scripts.
• Experience with defect tracking and test management tools (Jira, Azure DevOps, ALM, etc.).
• Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
• Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in Healthcare, Financial Services, or Insurance domains.
• Knowledge of automation testing concepts and frameworks.
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Experience with performance and security testing is a plus.
• Work Authorization: Green Card (GC)

Compensation can differ depending on factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, education, and level of experience. UST provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in various U.S. markets as set forth below.

Role Location: Remote - US

Compensation Range: $68,000-$102,000

Full-time, regular employees accrue a minimum of 10 days of paid vacation per year, receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year), 10 paid holidays, and are eligible for paid bereavement leave and jury duty. They are eligible to participate in the Company's 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer matching. Regular employees may purchase additional voluntary short-term disability benefits, and participate in a Health Savings Account (HSA) as well as a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) for healthcare, dependent child care, and/or commuting expenses as allowable under IRS guidelines. Benefits offerings vary in Puerto Rico.

Full-time temporary employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year) and are eligible to participate in the Company's 401(k) program with employer matching. They and their dependents residing in the US are eligible for medical, dental, and vision insurance.

Part-time temporary employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year).

All US employees who work in a state or locality with more generous paid sick leave benefits than specified here will receive the benefit of those sick leave laws.
