QA Automation Engineer
Lead I - Software Testing
You Are:
UST is searching for a skilled QA Automation Engineer to design, develop, and maintain automated test solutions that ensure the quality and reliability of web, mobile, and API applications. The ideal candidate should have strong automation testing experience, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality software.
The opportunity:
• Design, develop, and execute automated test scripts for web, mobile, and API applications
• Create and maintain automation frameworks for UI, API, and regression testing
• Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and product teams to understand requirements
• Identify, document, and track software defects
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines
• Analyze test results and prepare quality reports
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives
• Continuously improve test processes, tools, and methodologies
• Ensure the quality and reliability of applications through comprehensive automation testing
• Support cross-functional teams in delivering high-quality software solutions

What you need:
• Strong experience in test automation using Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or similar tools
• Proficiency in Java, Python, JavaScript, or C#
• Experience with API testing using Postman, Rest Assured, or similar tools
• Knowledge of TestNG, JUnit, PyTest, or equivalent testing frameworks
• Experience with Git, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Actions
• Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies
• Strong analytical and debugging skills
• Preferred Skills:
• Mobile automation experience using Appium
• Performance testing knowledge using JMeter or LoadRunner
• Experience with cloud testing platforms such as BrowserStack or Sauce Labs
• Knowledge of SQL and database testing
• Professional Competencies:

• Attention to detail and quality assurance mindset
• Ability to work collaboratively with developers, business analysts, and product teams

Compensation can differ depending on factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, education, and level of experience. UST provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in various U.S. markets as set forth below.
Role Location: Ontario
Compensation Range: $95,000-$119,000
Benefits
Full-time, regular employees accrue a minimum of 10 days of paid vacation per year, receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year), paid holidays, and are eligible for paid bereavement leave and jury duty. They and their dependents residing in Canada are eligible for Supplemental Healthcare coverage, as well as Company-paid Employee Only basic life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment coverage.
Full-time temporary employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year). They and their dependents residing in Canada are eligible for Supplemental Healthcare coverage, as well as Company-paid Employee Only basic life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment coverage.
Part-time regular and temporary employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year).
All Canadian employees who work in a province, territory or locality with more generous paid sick leave benefits than specified here will receive the benefit of those sick leave laws.
