Who will you be working with?

Shuttlewagon, a Wabtec Company, is seeking two Production Supervisors to lead and oversee all shop operations across manufacturing, fleet services, aftermarket support, rental fleet activities, and service operations. These positions will partner closely with Production, Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, Logistics, Customer Service, and Fleet Services teams to ensure the safe, efficient, and timely execution of all shop-related activities. The Production Supervisors will play a key role in driving operational excellence, employee engagement, customer satisfaction, and business performance across the facility.

The Production Supervisors will provide leadership across all shop operations, ensuring that production schedules, service activities, fleet maintenance, aftermarket support, and equipment readiness objectives are achieved safely, efficiently, and with the highest levels of quality.

By coordinating personnel, resources, parts availability, workflow priorities, and continuous improvement initiatives, these leaders will help maximize productivity, improve on-time delivery, reduce equipment downtime, and enhance customer satisfaction. They will serve as key liaisons between manufacturing teams, service technicians, customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders while fostering a culture focused on safety, accountability, quality, and operational excellence.

Through strong leadership, workforce development, and effective execution of business priorities, the Production Supervisors will help Shuttlewagon continue delivering industry-leading products and exceptional aftermarket support.

Education
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate degree, technical certification, or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Lean Manufacturing training or experience preferred.

Experience
  • Minimum two years of supervisory or leadership experience in a manufacturing, service, maintenance, fleet operations, or industrial environment.
  • Experience leading teams of employees in a fast-paced operational setting.
  • Experience with production scheduling, maintenance coordination, service operations, or aftermarket support.
  • Experience driving continuous improvement initiatives and employee engagement activities.

Technical Skills
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of heavy equipment, diesel-powered equipment, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, prints, schematics, service manuals, and business documents.
  • Working knowledge of inventory management, logistics, freight coordination, and production processes.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize resources and make decisions in a dynamic environment.

What will your typical day look like?

Leadership & Operational Oversight
  • Lead daily operations across manufacturing, shop service, fleet services, rental fleet, and aftermarket activities.
  • Provide floor leadership and direct supervision for assigned employees, including attendance management, performance coaching, and corrective action processes.
  • Organize manpower and establish daily priorities based on production schedules, customer requirements, and business objectives.
  • Monitor workflow and adjust resources to maximize productivity, efficiency, and customer responsiveness.
  • Communicate operational goals, progress, and challenges across departments.
  • Conduct employee performance reviews and establish development goals.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop team members while promoting accountability and engagement.

Production & Fleet Services Coordination
  • Ensure production schedules are executed safely, efficiently, and on time.
  • Coordinate fleet maintenance, repairs, inspections, and rental fleet readiness activities.
  • Oversee storage lot operations, equipment movement, and asset tracking.
  • Coordinate repair activities with internal teams, customers, vendors, and service providers.
  • Support freight and transportation logistics for equipment movement and customer deliveries.
  • Assist with troubleshooting complex equipment and manufacturing issues.
  • Ensure materials, tools, equipment, and resources are available to support operational requirements.

Safety & Quality
  • Foster a culture of safety through active leadership, coaching, and employee engagement.
  • Ensure compliance with all company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee the safe operation of overhead cranes, forklifts, lifting devices, and railcar mover equipment.
  • Promote quality standards throughout all manufacturing and service activities.
  • Monitor operational performance and implement corrective actions as needed.

Continuous Improvement
  • Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives, including Kaizen events and Lean activities.
  • Drive improvements in productivity, efficiency, quality, and cost performance.
  • Support daily 5S initiatives and ensure clean, organized work environments.
  • Work collaboratively with Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, and Operations teams to improve processes and eliminate waste.

Administrative Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate production, service, maintenance, inspection, and operational records.
  • Prepare reports and communicate performance metrics to management.
  • Support customer communications regarding product status, service schedules, and repair updates as needed.
  • Complete special projects and other duties as assigned to support business objectives.
  • Ensure company standards of ethics, trust, and professionalism are consistently upheld.

  • Regularly walk throughout manufacturing, service, and storage yard environments.
  • Climb on and off heavy equipment as needed.
  • Stand, sit, bend, and move throughout the workday.
  • Occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull materials and components.
  • Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while working in operational areas.


Working Conditions

Work is performed in a combination of office, manufacturing, service shop, warehouse, and outdoor storage yard environments. This position requires the ability to sit, stand, and walk unassisted throughout the workday. Employees must be able to use hands and fingers to operate equipment, tools, and computers and communicate effectively in operational settings. Exposure to moving equipment, moderate noise levels, varying temperatures, and manufacturing-related environmental conditions may occur.
