Full Job Description
ASRC Federal is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our growing finance team. This role is responsible for supporting the organization's accounting operations, financial reporting, technical accounting research, and month-end close processes while ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP, internal controls, and company policies. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, extensive experience with financial reporting, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, compliance-driven environment.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare, review, and post accurate and timely journal entries.
  • Lead and support month-end and year-end close activities.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts and research and resolve accounting discrepancies.
  • Prepare and maintain supporting documentation for accounting transactions.
  • Perform detailed balance sheet and profit & loss account reconciliations and variance (flux) analysis.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and supporting schedules.
  • Assist with the preparation and consolidation of financial statements.
  • Conduct financial reporting and account analysis to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Research technical accounting matters and prepare accounting memos, position papers, and white papers to support accounting conclusions.
  • Apply and maintain compliance with ASC 606 revenue recognition guidance and assist with technical accounting assessments.
  • Support ASC 842 lease accounting activities (preferred).
  • Assist with internal and external audit requests by providing required documentation and analysis.
  • Ensure adherence to accounting policies, auditing standards, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.
  • Utilize Deltek Costpoint and other financial systems to support accounting operations and reporting.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and reporting efficiencies.
  • Perform additional accounting and administrative responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA certification required.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive accounting experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting.
  • Experience with ASC 606 revenue recognition and technical accounting assessments.
  • Experience preparing technical accounting memorandums, accounting position papers, or white papers.
  • Experience performing balance sheet reconciliations, P&L analysis, and variance (flux) analysis.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, and financial analysis functions.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential financial information with integrity and professionalism.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen to meet the requirements of this position.

Preferred
  • Experience with ASC 842 lease accounting.
  • Experience using Deltek Costpoint.
  • Experience working in a government contracting, defense, aerospace, or other highly regulated environment.
  • Knowledge of financial systems, internal controls, and audit compliance requirements.
