Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Oracle Database Administrator with 12+ years of experience and deep expertise in Oracle GoldenGate to support mission-critical enterprise applications and large-scale database environments. The role will focus on Oracle database administration, GoldenGate replication architecture, performance optimization, disaster recovery, database migrations, and high availability. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Oracle RAC, Data Guard, Exadata, GoldenGate, and enterprise database environments, including real-time replication, migration, and hybrid infrastructure initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
• Administer, monitor, and maintain Oracle Database environments, including Oracle 12c, 19c, and 21c.
• Install, configure, patch, upgrade, and maintain Oracle databases across Production, Disaster Recovery (DR), UAT, and Development environments.
• Manage Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, and Exadata platforms.
• Perform capacity planning, storage management, and database health assessments.
• Implement and manage RMAN backup, restore, and recovery strategies.
• Maintain database security, auditing, compliance, and governance standards.
• Design, implement, configure, and support Oracle GoldenGate replication solutions.
• Manage GoldenGate Extract, Pump, and Replicat processes across heterogeneous environments.
• Monitor GoldenGate replication performance and resolve latency, synchronization, and data consistency issues.
• Configure and support bidirectional and unidirectional replication architectures.
• Support zero-downtime database migration and cutover activities using GoldenGate.
• Perform GoldenGate patching, upgrades, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
• Lead replication testing, validation, and disaster recovery exercises.
• Design and support High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions.
• Plan and execute Data Guard switchovers, failovers, and role transitions.
• Ensure replication integrity and business continuity across primary and DR environments.
• Conduct periodic DR drills and validate recovery processes.
• Troubleshoot complex database and replication issues and perform root-cause analysis.
• Analyze AWR, ASH, OEM, and GoldenGate reports to identify and resolve performance issues.
• Participate in critical incident, Major Incident Review (MIR), and Post Incident Review (PIR) activities.
• Provide proactive monitoring and preventive maintenance recommendations.
• Support database migration projects involving Oracle, DB2, Exadata, cloud, and hybrid environments.
• Participate in application modernization and cloud migration initiatives.
• Develop migration runbooks, cutover plans, and rollback strategies.
• Coordinate database and replication migration activities while minimizing downtime.
• Serve as a primary DBA liaison for customer teams, architects, infrastructure teams, and application owners.
• Coordinate with offshore database and middleware teams.
• Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and operational oversight.
• Participate in governance, architecture, and operational review meetings.
Required Qualifications
• 12+ years of experience in Oracle Database Administration, database migration, and/or cloud transformation projects.
• Extensive hands-on experience with Oracle GoldenGate.
• Strong experience with Oracle Database 12c, 19c, and 21c.
• Strong experience administering Oracle RAC, Data Guard, ASM, and Exadata.
• Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM).
• Strong experience with RMAN backup, restore, and recovery.
• Strong database performance tuning and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with GoldenGate Extract, Pump, and Replicat processes.
• Experience designing and implementing GoldenGate replication architectures.
• Experience with GoldenGate Microservices Architecture.
• Experience with Active-Active and Active-Passive replication.
• Experience with data migration, synchronization, and replication monitoring.
• Experience with heterogeneous database replication.
• Experience supporting database migrations and cutovers with minimal downtime.
• Experience with database security, auditing, upgrades, and patch management.
• Experience with Linux/Unix administration and shell scripting.
• Knowledge of networking concepts related to database replication.
• Experience developing automation scripts and supporting database automation.
• Strong incident management, root-cause analysis, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to provide technical guidance and collaborate effectively with distributed teams.
Preferred Qualifications
• Knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
• Experience with Ansible.
• Experience with ServiceNow or other IT Service Management (ITSM) tools.
• Familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD concepts.
