Job Description

Reporting to the Manager, Digital Information Systems, the Network Security Analyst is responsible for configuring, deploying and maintaining the comprehensive enterprise network security infrastructure. This role regularly works with clients, business partners, vendors and other team members to resolve incidents/problems, performs root cause analysis, and delivers infrastructure changes across the enterprise network security infrastructure.

  • Participates in working groups for the development of security policies, guidelines, best practices, and strategy


What must you have?
  • College Diploma or University Degree in Computer System, Computer Networking, Cyber Security or related field.
  • Checkpoint CCSA certification is required. CCSE is a plus.
  • ITIL certification is required or commitment to complete within six (6) months from date of hire.
  • Minimum of 3 years progressive working experience in IT system support and network administration.
  • Minimum of 1 years of experience in Network Security.
  • In-depth knowledge of network security best practices, excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.


What else do you bring?
  • Good working knowledge of network security protocols and infrastructure, like PKI, IKE/IPsec, SSL etc.
  • Experience TCP/IP and common network protocols.
  • Experience with Checkpoint, Cisco ASA firewalls, Palo Alto, Juniper, Fortinet etc. enterprise firewall technologies.
  • Strong firewall access rule and VPN troubleshooting experience.
  • Experience in configuration and implementation of: Fire Eye NX, Bluecoat Proxy, Cisco ISE, Checkpoint Endpoint Full Disk/Media Encryption etc.
  • Knowledge of VMware, Citrix, SAN/Blade Chassis, Linux, Windows systems and datacenter operations.
  • Experience with network package capture and monitoring tools PRTG enterprise, Wireshark etc.
  • Preferred expertise that encompasses network management and support, integration services, and security audit and design.
  • PIPEDA/PHIPA compliance experience as it relates to network best practices and security as well as managing and complying to PIPEDA/PHIPA network controls.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a 24/7 hospital environment.
  • Ability to create and maintain positive and professional business relationships with both internal associates and external customers.
  • Proven organizational and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to learn and master new technology quickly and improve personal performance through continual self-study.
  • Valid Ontario driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Flexibility with respect with work hours; may be required to work after-hours and at all sites of Mackenzie Health.
  • Proven attendance record.
