About the job:

Enterprise Network Service provides essential set of network connectivity and functional services to the Sun Life Financial global community in support of the digital enterprise and business operations worldwide.

The Network Solution Design Engineering Team is accountable for developing and maintaining strategy and roadmaps for network technology domains as well as designing, engineering, communicating, and delivering complex and innovative end-to-end solutions, enabling Sun Life Financial business operations globally.

What you will do?

• We are seeking a Senior Micro segmentation Engineer to design, implement, and operationalize enterprise micro segmentation solutions across on-premise, cloud, and hybrid environments.

• The successful candidate will possess deep expertise in Zero Trust principles, workload protection, application dependency mapping, firewall policy management, cloud security, and security automation. Experience with Akamai Guardicore, Illumio, VMware, Kubernetes, AWS, and enterprise-scale security operations is highly preferred.

• Provide technical leadership or subject matter expertise within projects to deliver secure suitable technical solutions, compliant with governance, policies, standards, and procedures to realize the projects27 objective, successful implementation, and its operationalization.

• Deliver both high-level and detailed-level designs, in accordance to best practices, with security, fault resiliency, tolerance, sizing and agility considerations, inclusive of just in time and solution release documentation.

• Contribute to ongoing operations, maintenance, and evolution of the network infrastructure and its services on-premises/in-cloud, through POC, LCM, proactive health and performance analysis, as well as degradation and incident remediation.

• Advance enabling technologies for Automation, Data & Analytics, DevOps, API, and Digital Assets, within Network Services27 Infrastructure and Functional Engineering be it on-premises or in-cloud.

• Create & manage business requirements, business processes and operational standards and procedures.

• Development of comprehensive Engineering and Architecture documentations.

What you will need to succeed?

• 5+ years of experience in Network Security, Cybersecurity, or Infrastructure Engineering.

• Strong understanding of:-
  - Micro segmentation and Zero Trust Architecture
  - Network Segmentation and East-West Traffic Controls
  - Layer 3-7 networking concepts
  - Firewall policy design and enforcement
  - Application Dependency Mapping (ADM)
  - Least Privilege security models

• Experience implementing or managing:
  - Akamai Guardicore (preferred)
  - Illumio
  - Cisco Secure Workload / Tetration
  - Zero Networks

• Knowledge of:
  - TCP/IP, Routing, Switching
  - DNS, DHCP
  - Load Balancers (F5)
  - Linux and Windows Server platforms

• Cloud & Virtualization: Hands-on experience with:
  - AWS Security Groups
  - Azure Network Security Groups
  - VMware vSphere / VCF
  - VMware NSX
  - Kubernetes Network Policies
  - Container security

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
