Network Engineer
Lead II - Cloud Infrastructure Services
UST is searching for an experienced Network Engineer to manage and support the customer's enterprise network and security infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Fortinet firewalls, Cisco switching, Juniper wireless technologies, network monitoring, incident troubleshooting, and onsite hands-and-feet support.
The opportunity:
• Network & Security Operations
• Administer, monitor, and troubleshoot enterprise network infrastructure, including FortiGate Firewalls, Cisco Switches, and Juniper Wireless infrastructure.
• Configure, maintain, and optimize firewalls, switching, wireless, VLANs, routing, VPNs, and network security policies.
• Perform firmware upgrades, configuration backups, patching, and preventive maintenance on network devices.
• Monitor network availability, performance, and capacity, proactively identifying and resolving issues. Diagnose and resolve LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, DNS, and connectivity issues.
• Participate in network implementation, upgrades, migrations, and disaster recovery activities.
• Ensure network security compliance by implementing approved security policies and best practices.
• Monitoring & Incident Management
• Monitor enterprise network infrastructure using Customer-owned monitoring tools.
• Perform triage, fault isolation, and root cause analysis for network-related events. Create, update, and resolve network incidents and service requests within agreed SLAs.
• Execute approved network changes in accordance with change management procedures.
• Prepare operational reports, network health dashboards, and incident summaries.
• Onsite Hands-and-Feet Support Provide onsite support for installation, rack-and-stack, cabling, hardware replacement, device provisioning, and troubleshooting.
• Coordinate with remote engineering teams during network maintenance and incident resolution. Support data center and branch office network infrastructure activities.
• Vendor Coordination Coordinate with OEM vendors, ISPs, telecommunications providers, and third-party support teams for issue resolution and escalation management. Manage vendor support cases through closure.
• Collaborate with customer infrastructure and security teams to ensure seamless network operations.
• Required Technical Skills:
• Fortinet FortiGate Firewalls Cisco Switching and Routing Juniper Wireless Infrastructure TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, VLANs, STP, Routing Protocols (OSPF/BGP preferred) VPN Technologies (Site-to-Site and Remote Access) DNS, DHCP, NAT Network Security and Firewall Policy Management Enterprise Network Monitoring Tools Network Performance Analysis and Troubleshooting Configuration Backup and Firmware Upgrades ITSM Tools (ServiceNow preferred)

• 8-12 years of enterprise network engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of network architecture, routing, switching, wireless, and security technologies. Experience supporting large enterprise or data center environments.
• Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional and global teams.
• Preferred Certifications
• Cisco CCNA / CCNP Fortinet Certified Professional (FCP) / NSE Juniper JNCIA / JNCIS
• Soft Skills
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Strong customer and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Compensation can differ depending on factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, education, and level of experience. UST provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in various U.S. markets as set forth below.
Role Location: Illinois
Compensation Range: $75,000-$113,000

Part-time temporary employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year).
