The Regional Connectivity Engineer is a critical role within the Solar Digital team establishing field connectivity domain expertise to deliver InSight Platform for Solar. This role serves as an extension of Connectivity Enablement team within a region to provide site support for connectivity definition, installation and troubleshooting as well as regional connectivity technical expertise to internal and end customers.  The individual will work with Solar, Customers and Field team and telecommunication suppliers on connectivity installation and sustaining support. As a field position, the successful candidate could reside in the region/country of current residence.

Responsibilities:

Scope of work includes customer site support for connectivity surveys and definition and hardware installation, software configuration, connections, cabling and satellite terminal installations.  Initial responsibility includes dedicated support to InSight Connect enablement, controls and networking troubleshooting support to Novazzano and San Diego teams, as well as ongoing local accountability to sustain connectivity for each unit. In addition, this role is expected to provide onshore and offshore field support to connectivity technology obsolescence and upgrade campaigns.

This position is expected to support multiple projects with multiple customers within a region, and be capable of handling complex networking, connectivity, hardware and software remote technology .The candidate must be open to frequent domestic and international travel to support customer meetings and onshore and offshore installations, troubleshooting or training, as required and be persistent and creative in troubleshooting and issue resolution. The successful candidate must work effectively in a team and demonstrate initiative in assigned tasks.

This field-based position is available in multiple Solar Turbines district locations throughout the United States.

Available to travel (mainly onshore/occasionally offshore)50%-75% traveling is required.

Top candidates will have:

A bachelor’s degree or equivalent expertise in engineering or IT is preferred. Offshore Field service experience and/or working knowledge of Solar’s product line, as well as familiarity with systems process automation, networking, package instrumentation and/or Turbotronic control systems is beneficial. Proven experience in troubleshooting with relevant technology is highly valued. Multiple language capability is a plus.

Summary Pay Range:

$81,370.00 - $122,060.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location,job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
