Manager - Pediatric Fellowship Programs

Full time, day shift. Salaried position.

Onsite with potential for hybrid schedule after orientation.

Manager will oversee the Pediatric Nephrology Fellowship Program and Fellowship Coordinators within the Department of Pediatrics.

Provides leadership, direction, and day-to-day management of educational and divisional activities related to medical education programs within the Department of Pediatrics. Supervises Medical Education Coordinators embedded across the Department of Pediatrics. Works closely with Divisional and Departmental Leadership to ensure compliance with institutional and accreditation requirements and to provide comprehensive administrative and operational support for training programs. Supports human resource functions, participates in budget and financial processes, and contributes to strategic planning initiatives related to GME. Serves as a key liaison between the division, department, and external regulatory or academic organizations.

Min Quals:

  • Minimum five years of experience in an academic health care setting required.

  • Medical Education experience strongly preferred.

  • Bachelor’s degree in health care administration, business, or related field desired or equivalent appropriate prior work experience.

  • Master’s degree preferred.

  • Knowledge of ACGME policies preferred

  • Must demonstrate initiative, resourcefulness, and problem-solving skills in applying a detailed knowledge of the responsibilities, functions, and underlying management structure of the department and of the medical school in order to organize and independently prioritize work, to establish procedures and systems, and to ensure orderly and timely work flow.

  • Strong technological skills in Microsoft computer software applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access. Familiarity with website management.

  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, and oral and written communication skills required.

Job Duties:

  • Oversee administrative processes and staff for Medical Education in the Department of Pediatrics. Perform annual personnel reviews for medical education coordinators.

  • Work with the Department of Pediatrics Associate Chair for Education to allocate shared resources within medical education programs. Provide oversight related to faculty development and incentive compensation related to education.

  • Provide administration and supervision of graduate medical education programs. Develop mechanisms to facilitate house-staff compliance with established policies and procedures. Develop new procedures in response to new or revised policies issued by governing agencies or program director.

  • Manage and coordinate ACGME-conducted accreditation site visits for fellowship programs. Maintain web-based ACGME accreditation surveys for pediatric residency program, collecting and collating appropriate information from various sources throughout the campus.

  • Create and supervise all evaluation processes for internal and external rotations. Network with community practices to facilitate effective outpatient experiences.

  • Compile and submit reports to ACGME, American Board of Pediatrics, American Academy of Pediatrics, American Association of Medical Colleges, AMA, and other professional organizations as required. Maintain GME Tracks.

  • Obtain documentation and credentialing for all graduate medical education training conducted with the department. Maintain all house staff personnel records, including confidential evaluation and counseling records.

  • Plan, organize and schedule new house staff orientation. Ensure compliant initial training in NRP, BLS, and PALS, and monitor ongoing maintenance of certification. Plan, organize and schedule supervisory retreats throughout the year. Maintain guideline manuals of program policies.

    $76,960.00-$125,840.00 Salary
