As the Manager, Operational & Enterprise Risk, you will contribute to the overall success of the execution of second line of defense programs for Operational and Enterprise Risk by providing support for effective challenge of risk management practices carried out by Tangerine's first line of defense.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  • Champion a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge
  • Act as a trusted advisor, provide value-added advice and independent challenge to ensure effective challenge to the Tangerine business line in its Operational and Risk Management utilizing key operational and enterprise risk management tools
  • Support updates to the Tangerine Risk Appetite Statement and Tangerine Addendum to the Enterprise Risk Management Framework
  • Support the reporting of Tangerine's Risk Appetite Metrics (RAMs)
  • Develop strong partnerships with business and enterprise risk management teams and stay abreast of Tangerine business priorities
  • Maintain various inventories to aid in providing value-added advice and effective challenge as well as ensure compliance with governance document adoption/approval guidelines
  • Support various regulatory requirements as required by OSFI/internal partners
  • Support the operational risk oversight team mandate and deliveries as required
  • Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions
  • Champion a high-performance environment and contribute to an inclusive work environment
  • Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/AFT/sanctions and conduct risk.
  • Supports Senior Manager to provide oversight for Tangerine to ensure delivery of the operational and enterprise risk tools in compliance with policies and frameworks as well as sound operational management risk management practices
  • Identify opportunities to enhance operational risk oversight practices
  • Be familiar with the operating environment of the Bank, with strong knowledge of the business, product, and end-to-end processes of Tangerine Bank
