The Manager, Global Testing Centre of Excellence (GTCE) Quality Control, contributes to the overall success of the Global Compliance ("GC") Testing function, ensuring specific individual goals, plans, and initiatives are executed/delivered in support of the team's business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted follow governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  • Champion a customer-focused culture to deepen stakeholder relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
  • Support Senior Manager, GTCE Quality Control, in overseeing a consistent approach to the compliance testing program.
  • Provide support in drafting and revising, as necessary, Global Compliance Testing Operating Procedures and supporting guidance documents to ensure consistency and alignment with the Global Compliance Governance Document Standard.
  • Coordinate and lead the Global Compliance Testing Centre of Excellence quarterly newsletter.
  • Provide guidance on the development/maintenance, including exceptions, of the Testing Program's frameworks, procedures, and best practices.
  • Maintain oversight of the effectiveness of the Compliance Testing pillar by setting standards and processes and performing quality control reviews of the key procedure requirements for the Quality Control samples selected quarterly.
  • Create Quality Control Review Guides and Quality Control Scripts.
  • Assist with the delivery of training workshops on Compliance Testing to ensure that testing teams have the required skills to effectively execute the Compliance Testing Plan.
  • Display a strong understanding of the Compliance Testing program and alignment with the Compliance Risk Management framework.
  • Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Create an environment in which their team pursues effective and efficient operations in their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct, and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to, and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions, and conduct risk.
  • Build a high-performance environment and implement a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops, and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment and using a coaching mindset and behaviours; communicating vision, values, and business strategy; and managing succession and development planning for the team.
