Provides expertise in the design, development, and implementation of Private Wealth (PW) physical channel and real estate initiatives from business case development through to execution. Works across BMO to support delivery of program and project results aligned with business/group and enterprise objectives.

Acts as a trusted advisor to the business/group, providing input into strategy, premises planning, and portfolio-related decisions, while supporting execution of the overall real estate strategy.

Influences and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to support the achievement of business objectives.

Key Accountabilities

Strategy & Advisory

  • Assists in the development of PW real estate and physical channel strategies and plans.
  • Provides analysis, insights, and recommendations based on an understanding of business strategy and stakeholder needs.
  • Identifies emerging issues, trends, and opportunities to inform decision-making.
  • Applies a conceptual and practical understanding of premises planning to strategic and tactical situations.
  • Recommends solutions based on analysis of issues and implications for the business.

Strategic Initiative Execution

  • Supports the execution of strategic initiatives from planning through implementation in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Breaks down strategic problems and analyzes data and information to provide insights and recommendations.
  • Coordinates activities across multiple stakeholders to support delivery of initiatives.
  • Identifies risks, issues, and dependencies and supports resolution to enable successful execution.  
  • Monitors and tracks performance indicators and addresses issues as they arise.

Portfolio & Operational Management

  • Identifies opportunities to improve efficiency and optimize real estate investments.
  • Provides input into the planning and implementation of operational programs related to real estate and physical channel delivery
  • Coordinates IAAPs, SmartProcure requests, and related funding processes.
  • Partners with Corporate Real Estate (CRE), BGIS, and internal teams to ensure alignment on project execution and funding approvals.

Stakeholder & Relationship Management

  • Acts as a key point of contact for PW markets and Corporate Real Estate partners.
  • Builds effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensures stakeholders are informed of recommendations, decisions, progress, and issues.
  • Coordinates regular touchpoints and governance meetings across partner groups.

Data, Analytics & Insights

  • Analyzes data to generate insights and support recommendations and decision-making.
  • Identifies trends and emerging issues through data analysis.
  • Supports data integration and reporting to monitor performance and outcomes.

Change Management & Governance

  • Supports change management activities including planning, stakeholder management, and implementation of initiatives.
  • May participate on committees, working groups, or task forces to support initiatives.
  • Ensures work aligns with enterprise governance, risk, and regulatory requirements.  
  • Applies a risk mindset and adheres to the Bank’s Risk Management Framework in all activities.

Scope & Impact

  • Works on initiatives of moderate complexity, typically involving multiple stakeholders across the business/group and enterprise.
  • Provides specialized analytical and advisory support to real estate and physical channel initiatives.
  • Exercises judgment to solve problems within established guidelines, escalating more complex issues as required.
  • Supports prioritization and sequencing of initiatives in alignment with business/group strategy.

Qualifications

Experience & Education

  • Typically 5–7 years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience supporting strategic initiatives, project/program delivery, or real estate / physical channel planning.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Solid understanding of real estate strategy, premises planning, or physical channel management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Collaboration and teamwork skills with ability to work across groups.

Salary:

$69,000.00 - $129,000.00

Pay Type:

Salaried

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
