Position Description:

This role must be performed 5 days/week at the client site in Pittsburgh PA.

We are looking for an experienced Java Full Stack Engineer with strong AI enabled software engineering capabilities to design, develop, enhance, and support enterprise applications.

The successful candidate should have 5-8 years of hands-on software development experience, with strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, REST APIs, Angular, Oracle, and middleware/integration technologies.

In addition to traditional full stack development skills, the candidate should be proficient in leveraging Generative AI and AI assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar enterprise approved AI development assistants to improve developer productivity, code quality, testing, documentation, troubleshooting, and overall software development lifecycle efficiency.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

. Design, develop, code, test, debug, deploy, and maintain scalable enterprise applications using Java and modern full stack technologies.
. Develop backend services and APIs using Java, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security, REST APIs, and Microservices architectures.
. Develop responsive and maintainable user interfaces using Angular, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and related frontend technologies.
. Use enterprise approved AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar tools to accelerate software development while maintaining engineering quality and security standards.
. Design and develop integrations between applications, APIs, middleware platforms, databases, and external systems.
. Work with Oracle and relational databases, including data modeling, SQL development, stored procedures, performance optimization, and application/database integration.
. Design and implement reusable APIs and Microservices following enterprise architecture, security, scalability, and resiliency standards.
. Ensure that software solutions meet or exceed defined technical standards, security requirements, performance expectations, and end user requirements.
. Analyze complex business and technical requirements and propose appropriate software architecture and implementation approaches.
. Prepare and maintain technical documentation, API specifications, design documents, deployment documentation, operating procedures, and application support documentation.
. Participate actively as part of an Agile/Scrum development team, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand ups, code reviews, demonstrations, and retrospectives.
. Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Architects, QA engineers, DevOps teams, infrastructure teams, cybersecurity teams, and other stakeholders throughout the application development lifecycle.
. Engage directly with client, internal, and third party stakeholders as part of application development, integration, testing, deployment, and implementation activities.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

. 5-8 years of hands-on experience in enterprise software application development, implementation, and deployment.
. Strong hands on experience with: Java Core Java Spring Framework Spring Boot Spring MVC Spring Security Microservices REST APIs
. Strong frontend development experience using: Angular TypeScript JavaScript HTML CSS
. Hands on development experience with relational databases, particularly Oracle Database.
. Strong SQL development and database integration experience.
. Experience working with middleware and enterprise integration technologies, such as messaging platforms, API gateways, integration frameworks, or Enterprise Service Bus technologies.
. Strong understanding of: RESTful API design Microservices architecture Distributed application architecture Enterprise application integration Design patterns Object oriented programming
. Experience using source control and software engineering platforms such as Git, GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket.
. Experience with modern CI/CD and DevOps practices.
. Demonstrated experience using AI assisted software development tools, such as GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Amazon Q Developer, Cursor, or comparable enterprise approved development tools.
. Ability to effectively formulate prompts and interact with Generative AI tools for coding, debugging, testing, documentation, and problem solving activities.
. Ability to critically review and validate AI generated code rather than relying on generated output without appropriate engineering review.
. Strong understanding of secure software development practices.
. Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem solving skills.
. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
. Strong interpersonal and client facing skills.
. Ability to work effectively with geographically distributed Agile teams and interact with business, technology, client, and third-party stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:
. Experience developing applications within banking, financial services, insurance, or other regulated enterprise environments.
. Experience with API management and middleware technologies such as Kafka, IBM MQ, MuleSoft, IBM ACE/IIB, Apigee, or similar platforms.
. Experience with containerization and cloud native technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
. Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.
. Familiarity with Generative AI concepts including: Large Language Models (LLMs) Prompt engineering Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) AI agents Enterprise AI platforms
. Exposure to integrating LLM or Generative AI APIs into Java/Spring Boot applications would be an advantage.
. Familiarity with frameworks such as Spring AI, LangChain4j, Semantic Kernel, or similar AI application development frameworks is desirable but not mandatory.

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $89,600.00 $176,300.00.
