JOB SUMMARY
The IT Applications and Data Division (ITADD) builds and maintains FBI software and provides data management, cloud development, and cross-domain solutions to the Bureau's workforce. ITADD develops software for case and crisis management, data analytics, data management, and administration. Its investigative applications help agents and analysts manage cases, sources, threats, intelligence, evidence, and records. Its enterprise business applications support the FBI's administrative, intelligence, and investigative services. ITADD provides state-of-the-art technologies that simplify data retrieval and dissemination, strengthening the Bureau's ability to meet real-time national security, intelligence, counterintelligence, counterterrorism, and law enforcement challenges.
KEY REQUIREMENTS

MAJOR DUTIES
GS-07/09:

• Analyze work processes to determine system requirements and perform maintenance in assigned areas that are of limited scope and difficulty.
• Specify the media type to be used in development of the output product, including format and tabulated reports.
• Maintain and modify, as required, an assigned group of programs within the total number of utility routines, execution routines, input-output control programs, etc., required to support the FBI's IT system.
• Review software available from vendors to run on computers using established data base and output requirements.
• Design, build, test, and maintain computer applications and systems to mitigate vulnerabilities and maintain system compliance.

GS-11/12:

• Assist end-users in one or a variety of subject-matter fields in deciding which processes to automate; how to select equipment and software; how to use available technology; and whether and how to network, Work with end-users to understand the work environment and to determine requirements.
• Formulate goals, initiatives, and tactical plans for assigned studies which are in consonance with the FBI's long-range IT strategy.
• Design databases; develop and create data dictionaries; support backup and recovery through database management systems.
• Develop, maintain, and follow a written plan that defines project goals, processes, and resource estimates related to schedule, cost, and development
• Communicate with stakeholders, including customers, business managers, and development teams to ensure the goals and mission are clear, while the vision is aligned with business objectives.
• Work closely with teams to develop and promote cloud-native application architectures (microservices, serverless, containers, etc.) and application development and operations practices; to include cost saving opportunities.
• Drive technical discussions in a collaborative fashion to ensure solutions are designed for successful automated deployment.
• Design, build, implement, manage and maintain computer applications. Lead technical and architectural discussions during the development and implementation process of applications. Review and debug code changes within various system repositories.

GS-13/14:

• Facilitate and lead the development and deployment of multi-tiered, complex enterprise applications and web services in an agile software development environment.
• Set strategic goals and initiatives for projects in correlation with the FBI's long-range IT Strategy for both on premise as well as future cloud initiatives.
• Provide technical consultation that addresses complex advanced systems and resolves critical technical problems across multiple applications.

Education
