Position SummaryThe IT Manager, Warehouse & Production Systems is a hands-on technology leader responsible for the architecture, development, configuration, integration, support, and continuous improvement of WMS, production, and supply chain applications. This role partners with Operations, Warehouse, Manufacturing, and IT to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions and ensure system reliability, performance, and integration.
The Manager applies strong WMS and warehouse process knowledge to troubleshoot application, database, and integration issues; optimize system functionality; and lead technical enhancements, implementations, and automation. The role requires a hands-on technical leader capable of working directly with applications, databases, interfaces, APIs, and warehouse operations to resolve issues and deliver effective technology solutions.
Duties and Responsibilities- Serve as the technical owner and subject matter expert for WMS, Production Systems, and Supply Chain applications, providing hands-on leadership for configuration, development, integration, implementation, troubleshooting, and support.
- Partner with Warehouse, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Operations, and IT to translate business requirements and operational challenges into effective technical solutions.
- Directly manage Developers, System Administrators, Business/Systems Analysts, and other technology resources supporting Warehouse and Production Systems.
- Maintain a strong understanding of warehouse operations, including receiving, inventory management, replenishment, picking, packing, shipping, cycle counting, order fulfillment, and 3PL processes.
- Work directly with operational teams and on the warehouse floor to troubleshoot issues, identify root causes, validate system functionality, and drive process and system improvements.
- Provide hands-on technical expertise in data analytics APIs,and system integrations.
- Develop, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain applications, databases, interfaces, reports, and automation supporting warehouse and production operations.
- Lead integrations between WMS, ERP, production, transportation, 3PL, supplier, and other enterprise systems.
- Establish monitoring, alerting, logging, and support processes to improve system reliability, availability, and performance.
- Lead WMS and Supply Chain technology projects, enhancements, upgrades, implementations, and facility deployments from requirements through production.
- Lead and participate in system, integration, regression, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Identify opportunities to automate processes, improve system functionality, increase operational efficiency, and reduce manual effort.
- Analyze system and operational data to identify issues, trends, and opportunities for improvement.
- Provide technical mentoring, coaching, and direction while maintaining a hands-on role in critical technical activities and problem resolution.
- Coordinate activities across IT, Operations, Warehouse, Manufacturing, vendors, and third-party providers to ensure successful delivery and support of technology solutions.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills- Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or related field is preferred
- 5+ years of experience in IT systems configuration or development and support is required
- 3+ years of management or team lead experience is required.
- 3+ years of experience with warehouse management systems (WMS), demand/assortment planning and/or order management applications is required.
- Knowledge of logistics processes such as stock transfers, inventory movements, 3PL integration, storage/picking strategy, supplier integration and handling unit management.
- Knowledge of NetSuite ERP or Microsoft Dynamics is a plus.
- Knowledge of Agile frameworks, continuous integration and continuous deployment.
- Experience implementing applications using .Net framework and SQL using Oracle and/or SSRS and SSIS.
- Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills with the ability to multitask to balance and achieve immediate and long-term priorities.
- Ability to travel overnight up to 20% as needed.
