Full Job Description
Position Summary

Our Austin office has a unique opportunity for an Immigration Practice Training Specialist to join our fast-paced immigration practice group. The Immigration Practice Training Specialist will work closely with the Immigration Practice Training Manager to perform the following core duties:
• Develop, implement, and manage paralegal training programs; and
• Develop or enhance, implement, and document internal case processing and procedures

Essential Functions

TRAINING:
• Develop and present trainings for paralegals, junior associates, and business professionals.
• Update training materials and conduct hands-on paralegal training, to include substantive immigration law as well as filing procedures and internal protocols.
• Review current training materials, update, and enhance.
• Develop Power Points, quick reference guides, and flowcharts of training materials.
• Present and participate in hands on training with new/experienced paralegals and business professionals.
• Coordinate training efforts with Associates/Shareholders and other stakeholders.
• Record training modules, and create e-learning Modules and interactive courses on a learning management system.
• Answer day-to-day questions and work with senior paralegals on client teams to obtain answers for client specific procedure/protocols.
• Analyze and record all client specific processes/procedures, and support individuals in successfully learning operational processes required for progressing cases forward.
• Coordinate with client-team paralegals to update client materials: process memos, guides, and rules of the road documentation.
• Coordinate with paralegals to ensure client database is updated regarding any changes in contact information or corporate information.

PROCESS/PROCEDURE IMPROVEMENT:
• Review current internal paralegal workflow processes and procedures to document procedures in place within the practice.
• Develop or enhance and implement paralegal case management processes and procedures.
• Train or re-train paralegals on proper processes and procedures.
• Work with Reporting, Billing, Admins and Clerks to identify areas for improvement as they relate to Paralegal involvement.

OTHER:
• Chair biweekly or monthly paralegal group meetings.
• Serve as a team resource for client and office procedures. Liaise with file clerks, data clerks, admins, reporting and hot dates to understand and provide input on processes.
• Participate in weekly attorney meetings and other attorney project meetings.
• Report into and receive guidance from shareholders.

Requirements

• 7 + years of experience in a senior level capacity with an immigration law firm, department or corporate immigration function.
• Expert knowledge of procedural requirements for various types of nonimmigrant and immigrant visas and client processes.
• Knowledge of case management and billing systems.
• Experience with MS Office including Word, PPT, Visio and Excel.
• Experience corresponding with clients directly on case processing and other procedural
matters.
• Experience handling high touch client base with poise and confidence.
• Ability to synthesize and distill information into learner-friendly, digestible content.
• Ability to prioritize own work and team's work and take on multiple projects.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Excellent organizational skills, including a strong facility with case management reporting analytics.
• Exercises excellent independent judgment.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• BS or BA Degree.
• Must be in the Austin office Monday - Friday
