Position Overview

As an HR Business Partner Director - Technology within PNC's Human Resources organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA.

The HR Business Partner Director will act as a trusted advisor to the Head of Technology and senior leadership team, aligning people strategies with business objectives across one of PNC's largest and most complex functions. This role will lead strategic talent initiatives, organizational design, succession planning, leadership development, workforce planning, change management, and employee engagement efforts while helping leaders navigate technology transformation, AI-driven workforce shifts, evolving delivery models, and changing talent and capability needs.

PNC will not provide sponsorship for employment visas or participate in STEM OPT for this position.

Job Description
  • Manages the day-to-day activities and strategic support of all aspects of personnel management for multiple business segments and/or a mulitple major business units.
  • Leading multiple departments in establishing strategic goals and objectives that align with the overall business direction.
  • Advising multiple senior business leaderships on all aspects of HR and monitoring career management programs and employee relations counseling.
  • Working with multiple senior leadership to set priorities and direction of HR initiatives. Managing HR staff and monitoring individual performance and development of managers and individual contributors.
  • Ensuring effective communication of issues, operating plans and responsibilities among location personnel, management and the corporate office to facilitate efficient and effective execution of HR programs.

Preferred experience:
  • Ability to align talent, organizational, technology, and business priorities to drive performance and achieve strategic outcomes.
  • Technology literacy and the ability to build credibility with technology leaders by understanding business, product, service, delivery, and workforce implications without needing to be a technical expert.
  • Experience developing and executing workforce strategies for large, complex organizations with a substantial employee and contractor population.
  • Trusted advisor who provides effective challenge, exercises sound judgment, and influences senior leaders through complex business and talent decisions.
  • Strong relationship builder who works effectively across HR Centers of Excellence and enterprise partners, including Finance, Enterprise Change, Corporate Communications, and external suppliers.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish governance, clarify accountability, and coordinate execution across highly matrixed stakeholder groups.
  • Ability to enter a tenured organization, leverage institutional knowledge and established relationships, and build trust while establishing an independent leadership perspective.
  • Proven ability to use workforce data, analytics, and insights to identify risks and opportunities, shape strategy, influence decisions, and translate findings into action.
  • Experience supporting executive leaders in talent management, succession planning, organizational effectiveness, leadership development, and strategic workforce planning.
