JOB SUMMARY
The Quality Assurance team within Digital is responsible for the delivery of large, high-impact projects, enhancements, and maintenance for branded digital assets across Native App, WEB, and API platforms.

The FLEX Manager, Digital Operations, within the Digital Quality Assurance team, works with key business stakeholders to understand individual business area and product priorities. The role works with Product Squad teams to help them achieve their vision by providing functional, content, accessibility, analytics, SEO, API, Service Layer, Backend, and device testing for assigned product areas in support of Marriott and Digital initiatives. In addition, the role provides testing support for each Digital Channel release.

Marriott provides an equivalent digital experience for our guests, regardless of physical or cognitive ability. To uphold this commitment, the role works with UX, Standards, Product Squads, and QA Teams to ensure the guest experience is of the highest quality and delivers a truly inclusive WEB and Native App experience. The role educates stakeholders and provides guidance on QA standards and processes. This role oversees QA activities on the product squads.

CANDIDATE PROFILE Education and Experience
Required
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience/certification.
  • 5+ years of experience in Digital, IT operations, Quality Assurance, or related professional areas.
  • 5+ years of industry experience in test automation, with a focus on Native App and WEB applications.
  • Experience with the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), Agile and SAFe Agile methodologies, with hands-on experience using Jira, Confluence, Zephyr, and ServiceNow, as well as testing Native Apps, Web applications, Service Layers, and Back-End systems across supported languages and platforms.
  • Working knowledge of WCAG 2.1 accessibility guidelines and user research, with experience applying accessibility standards across digital websites, mobile applications, products, and digital documents using tools such as WAVE, axe, JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, TalkBack, Dragon NaturallySpeaking, and ZoomText.
  • Experience using analytics, QA, and testing tools including Browser Developer Tools, Adobe Experience Platform Debugger, Adobe Launch, Adobe Target, Charles Proxy, Sourcetree, Xcode, Android Studio, Vysor, QuickTime, SoapUI, Postman, REST Assured, Apollo Studio, Appium, Playwright, Selenium WebDriver, and BrowserStack or equivalent platforms, with strong programming skills in Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Python and expertise in REST and GraphQL API testing, including schema and resolver validation.
  • Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.


Preferred
  • Experience using developer productivity tools such as Cursor to support test automation development and maintenance.
  • Experience with AI-assisted development or testing tools, such as GitHub Copilot or Cursor, to improve automation development productivity.
  • Experience with API mocking and service virtualization tools, such as WireMock or MSW.
  • Experience with containerized or distributed test execution environments, such as Docker or Kubernetes.
  • Experience testing AI-enabled web or API-based applications is a plus.
  • SwiftUI and Kotlin experience are preferred.
  • Experience using SEO tools such as Screaming Frog, Botify, DeepCrawl, and Google Search Console.
  • Knowledge of Marriott digital platforms or prior experience in hospitality, travel, or ecommerce domains is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office tools.


CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

Managing Work, Projects, and Policies
  • Supports IT Service Layer & Platform Teams where necessary; Product Development Sprint work, regression testing & deployment validation of Marriott.com releases, Native App releases, Analytics releases, Digital Experiment Campaigns, & SEO in support of Digital revenue and room night goals.
  • Designs, builds, and maintains scalable automation frameworks for WEB, Native App, API, microservices, and data pipeline testing.
  • Ensures automation assets are reusable, stable, maintainable, and CI/CD-ready.
  • Implements visual validation, accessibility checks, and regression automation to reduce manual testing effort.
  • Improves automation reporting, test data management, and environment readiness.
  • Minimizes effort for guests with disabilities as they browse Marriott.com websites and Native Apps to learn about products and benefits, and to make or modify reservations in support of Digital revenue and room night goals.
  • Creates test strategies, functional test plans, end-to-end test plans, cross-channel test plans, and accessibility test plans; executes test scenarios and test cases; and communicates testing status.
  • Documents QA test effort progress accurately and submits timely reports on test progress, overall results, defects encountered, and issues impeding test execution to support delivery deadlines.
  • Analyzes information and evaluates results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
  • Manages intake, routing, and resolution of QA-related questions.
  • Collaborates with IT Service Layer and Platform Teams, Digital Product Development teams, Standards, Design, Analytics, and SEO teams to ensure QA and accessibility best practices are followed.
  • Provides accessibility guidance on UX designs, standards, and proposed implementations for new features on WEB and Native App platforms.
  • Identifies, analyzes, documents, and reports accessibility defects across Marriott's Digital websites and Native Apps.
  • Records metrics and reviews automated production site scan results to support compliance.
  • Reports on and drives improvements to Digital product features using accessibility issue data identified within product areas.

Supporting Operations
  • Lends support to other Channel product development efforts as needed.
  • Works with the team to put sustainable work processes and systems in place that support the execution of the strategy.
  • Establishes and maintains complete and up-to-date information to ensure accurate reporting.
  • Represents the team in resolving issues and supporting cross-functional alignment.
  • Provides and maintains a digital accessibility defect analysis report showing all logged accessibility tickets and current ticket status.
  • Communicates effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including executives, managers, designers, developers, and QA teams.
  • Adapts quickly and smoothly to stakeholder or management direction while remaining organized and managing tight deadlines.
