  • Monitor state-level developments in retirement to ensure compliance with ERISA standards.
  • Collaborate with the Litigation Center on legal challenges to policies when necessary.

Full Job Description
Position Overview:

Manage all aspects of retirement policy for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, including savings, defined benefit and defined contribution plans, other investment plans, administration of Trump accounts, ERISA litigation, fiduciary duties, investments, and corresponding disclosures. Oversee comments for pending regulations, work with the administration on guidance and other regulatory and subregulatory items, and lobby Congress on legislation and other Chamber priorities.

Responsibilities:
  • Represent the Chamber nationally on retirement policy, including before Congress, with the administration, with the media, and on several national coalition steering committees.
  • Meet with members of Congress, the administration, and regulatory agencies (e.g., SEC, DOL, Treasury) to promote the Chamber's retirement policy agenda.
  • Manage Chamber retirement committees and work with members as well as internal stakeholders to formulate policy positions and advocacy strategies.
  • Work with the Chamber's lobbying team and internal stakeholders.
  • Work with Chamber members to draft comments to proposed agency rulemakings.
  • Work with the administration on subregulatory guidance.
  • Create, develop, and implement programming for relevant Chamber retirement security summits, events, and conferences.
  • Draft reports, one-pagers, op-eds, and blogs promoting the Chamber's retirement policy agenda.
  • Monitor state developments in the retirement field, particularly regarding ERISA preemption.
  • Work with the Chamber Litigation Center on legal challenges to particular policies where appropriate.


Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of policy work in relevant areas. Association and government (congressional or administrative) experience is ideal; law firm or company experience is also relevant.
  • Detailed knowledge of retirement issues.
  • Experience with ERISA.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven program management, strong organization, and time management.
  • Knowledge of the legislative and rulemaking process.
  • Sound judgment and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of personnel. Able to multitask in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with minimal supervision.
  • Team player with the flexibility to work long hours.


The salary range for this position is $220,500.00 to $250,000.00. The actual salary paid for this position will vary based on market data, an applicant's qualifications, relevant degrees, certifications, and other factors. Our full-time employees are eligible for benefits, including health care, vision, dental, retirement, and paid leave.
