Position Overview:The Chamber seeks a senior member relations professional to lead engagement with high-level members and prospects across a dynamic AI- and technology-focused portfolio. This role is designed to be both retention- and growth-focused, requiring the Director to manage day-to-day C-suite relationships with existing members while identifying, cultivating, and closing new revenue opportunities.
Leading a significant industry portfolio, the Director will engage government relations executives of leading companies to develop deep partnerships, leverage industry expertise and intelligence, and deliver member value and revenue growth.
The Director will need to bring proven, direct connectivity and relevance to technology hubs across the U.S., with some international experience and exposure a plus. The role includes regular travel to meet with members, prospects, and industry leaders - especially to the West Coast, with on-ground experience strongly preferred. The ideal candidate will demonstrate superior relationship management skills and have extensive experience partnering directly with C-suite executives to understand goals and deliver opportunities.
Responsibilities: - Oversee a portfolio of the Chamber's significant members in a given industry or industries, leading the strategy and engagement with portfolio member accounts and leveraging industry expertise and intelligence to share insights and deliver results.
- Actively engage members to deliver value through regular connections and touchpoints, news and policy updates, and event invitations and opportunities.
- Drive new business growth within the AI and technology portfolio through consistent prospecting, outreach, and cultivation of high-potential companies.
- Meet or exceed annual revenue and retention goals within the portfolio and lead the development and implementation of an integrated and strategic revenue plan to grow existing accounts.
- Create customized KPIs for each portfolio member company to define success, demonstrate value, chart progress against strategic goals, and exceed members' expectations.
- Develop close partnerships with and support senior Chamber leaders as they strengthen ties to national and global AI and technology corporate leaders.
- Work creatively and collaboratively with policy expert colleagues to constantly identify new areas of interest for members throughout the Chamber's advocacy offerings, deliver contracted benefits, deepen overall engagement, and unlock additional areas of investment.
- Work closely with finance and operations colleagues on revenue forecasting, renewal planning, invoicing, and engagement tracking, using the Salesforce platform and other tools.
- Travel regularly to deepen relationships with current members, build new prospect relationships, and represent the Chamber in key markets and industry settings.
Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree and 5+ years' experience in fundraising/sales or member or client relations.
- Past work experience in professional services, political fundraising, a membership organization, government affairs, a communications agency, or a media company is preferred.
- Direct revenue responsibility.
- Direct exposure to and a passionate interest in AI- and technology-company ecosystems, lifecycles, trends, policy debates, and key influencers of debates-with the ability to translate complex issues into compelling member and prospect engagement opportunities.
- Superior relationship management experience and sales skills.
- Strong client service ethic.
- Strong presentation and persuasion skills; confidence when conversing with C-suite leaders from large corporations in a business development capacity.
- Excellent written communication skills, attention to detail, and an obsession with accuracy.
- Ability to present to large and small groups alike and speak publicly with clarity, discipline, and brevity.
- Deep intellectual curiosity and a keen interest in policy, with an ability to unpack complex topics and turn them into digestible, compelling sales opportunities.
- Ability to effectively articulate the Chamber value proposition to our members, with an interest in politics and policy and a deep appreciation for the contribution that the Chamber makes to the business community at large.

The salary range for this position is $122,250.00 to $153,000.00, with the possibility of additional compensation through a discretionary bonus. The actual salary paid for this position will vary based on market data, an applicant's qualifications, relevant degrees, certifications, and other factors.
