As a technical manager on a growing team, you will be instrumental in leading and developing a team of engineers while ensuring high technical standards and alignment with business objectives.

On a regular basis you'll be:- Participating in technical discussions and reviews to maintain high technical standards
- Collaborating with other departments on cross-functional initiatives
- Manage resource allocations and project planning
- Providing technical guidance and mentorship to direct reports
- Engaging in recruitment and interviewing processes to grow the team
- Help triage, investigate root causes, and support critical system issues as they arise
- Conducting regular one-on-ones with direct reports for performance monitoring and mentorship
- Championing and continuously improving Steno's SDLC process
- Facilitating communication regarding engineering-related compliance activities (SOC2, Penetration Testing, etc.)
- Reviewing, managing, and approving employee expense submissions
You're gonna crush it if:- You possess a track record of developing talented software teams
- You have experience with multiple software project methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.)
- You understand compliance and security considerations in software development
- You have experience in adapting processes and procedures in response to changing team and business needs
- You're passionate about revolutionizing traditional industries through technology

Some Requirements:- Strong technical background with broad knowledge of software development
- Excellent leadership and mentoring skills
- Strong communication skills, both technical and non-technical
- Ability to balance technical considerations with business objectives
- Experience with software development lifecycles and best practices
- Problem-solving skills and ability to manage complex projects
- Contribution to maintaining Steno's compliance certifications and managing security standards
- Be comfortable leading team meetings and facilitating discussions
Compensation & Benefits - Salary - $190,000 - $230,000

Our TeamOur Tech Team is a small, highly reliable, constantly innovative team. It is composed of Engineering, QA, Design, and Product. Instead of being siloed, Eng and QA work hand-in-hand with Product and Design for execution of new ideas and solutions. Our Eng team includes people from all levels of seniority and with a variety of backgrounds, from Fortune 500 to startups to FinTech to bootcamps.
