Responsibilities- Own reliability and performance at scale - set SLOs, reduce incidents, build observability that actually helps
- Scale the Platform Engineering team from ~8 to 15+ engineers over 18 months - hire well, develop ICs into leads, build culture
- Set technical direction for product - make architectural decisions on APIs, data models, and frontend systems
- Partner cross-functionally with Product, and Design teams to align engineering investments with company goals
- Stay close to the work - review critical PRs, participate in architecture discussions, unblock your team when needed
- Build processes that enable speed - CI/CD, on-call rotations, incident response, without bureaucracy
Experience- 2+ years leading and scaling engineering teams
- Experience growing teams, including developing ICs into leads
- Strong platform/infrastructure background - you have built and operated systems at scale
- Deep understanding of distributed systems, APIs, and cloud infrastructure (we are on AWS)
- Comfortable in a fast-moving environment
- Excellent communication skills - you can translate technical decisions for non-technical stakeholders
Preferred- Experience with AI/ML products - LLM integrations, automation, intelligent features
- Familiarity with our stack: Python (FastAPI), TypeScript/React, AWS (CDK, Lambda, DynamoDB)Previous involvement in scaling engineering processes: hiring, on-call, incident management
Compensation includes a $150,000-$250,000 base salary and meaningful equity, offering the opportunity to participate directly in Authentic's continued growth.
