The primary purpose of this position is: To serve as a senior professional Electrical Engineer, performing operations in support of the mission. Performs planning and design work for multi-phase projects for a variety of non-real property facilities, equipment, and systems, utilizing a professional knowledge of electrical engineering. Serves as an electrical engineering consultant on all design aspects of assigned projects. Provides professional consultation on a wide range of difficult electrical engineering issues and problems. Performs analysis and uses systematic, disciplined and quantifiable approaches to implement, develop, and document projects. Evaluates and recommends procedures and innovative techniques and methods to achieve goals. Complies with health, safety, and environmental rules and procedures and performs work in a manner that enhances the safety of the work environment.

-An engineering degree at the bachelor's level from an institution with an ABET accredited program in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field is highly desired.

- The employee may be required to work extended or other than normal duty hours to include overtime, and/or days, swings, or owl shifts.

-The work may require the employee to drive a motor vehicle. An appropriate, valid driver's license may be required for the position.

- The employee may be required to work during base exercises, contingencies or emergency situations.

- The employee may occasionally travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft IAW Joint Travel Regulations to other government installations, contractor facilities, or other commercial Locations for both training and mission accomplishment.

Recruitment Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

1. Professional knowledge of electrical engineering concepts, principles, practices, and extensive familiarity with other engineering disciplines and architecture; and knowledge of a broad range of engineering and construction standards, methods, practices, and techniques, materials, and equipment to ensure work is in compliance with regulations and standards.

2. Knowledge of standard contracting regulations, practices, and procedures; and work classifications and the regulatory and statutory restrictions on the expenditures of appropriated and non-appropriated funds.

3. Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental requirements as outlined in applicable standards, regulations, and/or technical orders; program planning and budgeting cycles, financial control, budget systems, and management; environmental principles, practices, procedures, laws, regulations, and current legislative issues.

4. Knowledge of automated data processing concepts, systems capabilities, and economic usage to effective accomplish assigned functions. Knowledge of budgeting, procurement, standard configuration and finding regulations, practices and processes related to system acquisition and sustainment management functions.

5. Ability to plan, conduct, and record site/facility surveys and inspections.

6. Ability to research, analyze, interpret, and apply rules, regulations, and procedures to a variety of situations and to recommend timely, and economical solutions; plan and organize work and coordinate with other engineering disciplines and architects; communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; and maintain good working relations.
