Job Summary
The Domain Cloud Architect will serve as the senior architecture authority for the AMIR program. The role will partner with the AMI technology vendor, system integrator, and internal teams to define and govern the end-to-end architecture across vendor SaaS and company-managed cloud environments. The scope includes applications, data, integrations, security, resiliency, deployment, cutover readiness, and the transition to steady-state operations.

Key Responsibilities
• Define AMIR architecture principles, reference models, standards, decision processes, and the long-term technology roadmap.
• Evaluate vendor SaaS and company-managed cloud deployment options, including security, resiliency, integration, observability, support, and operational readiness impacts.
• Review end-to-end solution architecture and vendor or SI deliverables across application, data, integration, infrastructure, security, deployment, and operations.
• Guide integration design by reviewing interfaces, APIs, events, messaging, dependencies, secure data exchange, and edge-system readiness requirements.
• Guide data design by reviewing data models, source-to-target mappings, canonical structures, data ownership, and downstream dependencies.
• Lead architecture governance, design reviews, approvals, exception handling, and documentation.
• Partner with security, infrastructure, application, data, operations, and business teams to resolve cross-domain architecture decisions.
• Negotiate with vendors and the SI on technology solutions, integration standards, deliverables, and design quality.
• Advise program leadership on architecture risks, tradeoffs, investment priorities, and emerging technologies.
• Support cutover planning, operational transition, and long-term support-model definition.

Required Qualifications
• At least 10 years of related IT architecture or engineering experience.
• Deep architecture experience spanning cloud, SaaS, enterprise applications, data, integrations, security, and operations.
• Ability to create architecture standards, blueprints, reference models, roadmaps, and governance processes.
• At least 5 years of experience as an architect working with AWS solutions, integration architecture, and vendor or SI delivery.
• Experience designing AWS integration layers for vendor-hosted or SaaS platforms, including security, resiliency, observability, and operational support.
• Knowledge of REST APIs, event-driven architecture, message-based integration, and secure data exchange across SaaS, cloud, and enterprise systems.
• Experience with SAP or customer information system integration touchpoints.
• Knowledge of utility metering, AMI, Head-End, MDMS, enterprise asset systems, or customer systems.
• Demonstrated ability to solve complex cross-platform and cross-environment architecture challenges.
• Ability to influence cross-functional teams and vendors without direct authority.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain architecture decisions and tradeoffs to senior stakeholders.

Certifications
• Relevant AWS architecture certification.
