Job Summary

Provision of effective and efficient management of the CAMC Linen Services Department and CAMC Sterile Linen Pack Room to ensure that adequate supplies of clean linen are available for all CAMC's using departments and its outside contract serviced facilities.

Responsibilities
• Direct overall operation of Linen Department CAMC and all contract serviced facilities.
• Administers an ongoing textile cost management program.
• Direct the activities of the Linen Standardization Committee.
• Responsible for the provision of a high quality linen product and sterile surgical linen packs for all using areas.
• Responsible for the development and management of an annual personnel, operating and capital equipment budget of linen services and OR Pack room.
• Develop and accomplishes annual objectives for each area.
• Responsible for the overall direction of employees. Implementing an effective workforce development program of several entry level positions from multifaceted backgrounds throughout the hire, train and management process.
• Support and assist employee participation in the continuous, quality improvement processes.
• Reinforce employee understanding of work integration with other departments throughout the organization.
• Ensure quality controls of the Linen Repack program.
• Responsible for the replacement of textiles and maintenance of a sufficient circulation inventory.
• Maintain current revenue source, while developing new outside revenue streams
• Manage and maintain the Memorial Division parking building area occupied by Linen Services.
• Responsible for ensuring compliance with the regulations of accrediting bodies.
• Maintain department, institution, and licensure (if applicable) required education. Document appropriately.
• Responsible for integrating continuous, quality improvement into department and organizational operations, and demonstrate a commitment to the process.
• Responsible for the performance of related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Patient Group Knowledge (Only applies to positions with direct patient contact)

The employee must possess/obtain (by the end of the orientation period) and demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide developmentally appropriate assessment, treatment or care as defined by the department's identified patient ages. Specifically the employee must be able to demonstrate competency in: 1) ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of patient needs; 2) knowledge of growth and development; and 3) understanding of the range of treatment needed by the patients.

Education
• Bachelor's Degree (Required) Experience: 5-7 years linen/laundry experience with 3-4 of those years in a management/supervisory capacity. Substitution: 7 to 10 years in a management/supervisory capacity may substitute for 5-7 years of linen experience.
