We deliver Security Compliance as a Product by embedding adaptive GRC frameworks directly into the Docusign Product and ecosystem, automatically scaling trust as standards as the GRC landscape evolves. This role is a critical leadership position accountable for managing GRC product and "pod" delivery, driving our global compliance strategy, accelerating the readiness of emerging certifications, and embedding automated audit preparedness across our platform to support business growth. Reporting directly to Docusign's Senior Director of Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC), the Director of Security GRC Product Delivery will be a technically proficient, business-savvy leader who manages both the enterprise-wide security compliance program and leads cross-functional GRC delivery "Pods" embedded across our product, enterprise, and security domains. In this role, you will manage a high-performing team to deliver GRC as a product-proactively identifying and reducing security risks by embedding scalable security controls, streamlined evidence automation, and continuous control testing directly into engineering and business workflows. You will evolve the traditional compliance function beyond point-in-time audits. The Director will manage a unified GRC Pod (incorporating Governance, Risk, and Compliance capabilities), while leading the compliance facets of the GRC team, to deliver exceptional, consolidated service to designated security, product, and enterprise stakeholders. You will accelerate Docusign's ecosystem growth by treating compliance as a core product deliverable, embedding GRC standards into product releases to ensure continuous, out-of-the-box regulatory alignment. You will also manage and lead all end-to-end security compliance audits across industry-standard frameworks, applying deep domain knowledge to shape a risk-based compliance strategy that supports business innovation without impeding velocity.

This position is a people manager role reporting to the Senior Director of Governance, Risk, and Compliance.

Responsibility
  • Execute the product delivery strategy within GRC by guiding embedded cross-functional Pods focused on measurable risk reduction and continuous improvements for specific product, enterprise and security focused domains
  • Define and drive a multi-year product vision and roadmap for the security compliance program, transitioning from manual, document-centric audits to a highly automated, scalable GRC SDLC Product
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing Security Compliance and GRC pod delivery teams responsible for driving GRC product management, continuous control effectiveness testing, compliance audits, readiness assessments, and integrated risk deliverables
  • Oversee and lead end-to-end security compliance audits across industry-standard frameworks, while proactively delivering readiness for emerging certifications as a core product offering. You will build automated, scalable compliance models that ensure Docusign is continuously and automatically prepared to rapidly adopt, integrate, and release new global regulatory standards
  • Treat Compliance as a scalable product by evaluating, prioritizing, and pre-empting emerging global certifications and regulatory trends-ensuring our controls framework naturally evolves ahead of new industry mandates while maintaining continuous audit readiness
  • Help manage the design and integration of streamlined evidence automation (e.g., continuous monitoring workflows) into the enterprise GRC toolstack in partnership with GRC Engineering, ensuring accurate control mapping and an optimized audit lifecycle
  • Apply deep domain knowledge of security, product, and enterprise architectures to partner with Product Security, Engineering, and Enterprise IT teams, ensuring controls are embedded into CI/CD pipelines and new feature designs
  • Serve as the primary liaison and trusted advisor for external auditors, regulatory bodies, and key internal stakeholders during global audit cycles, translating complex compliance requirements into actionable business terms
  • Develop insights, dashboards, and reporting that provide executive visibility into compliance posture, audit status, remediation efforts, and overall Pod delivery metrics
  • Manage core operational workflows within the enterprise GRC toolstack, evaluating control health and risk footprints in tandem with the Governance and Risk functions
  • Break down traditional silos by collaborating with product, technology, security, and sales teams to ensure a frictionless security approach and provide robust customer security assurance


Job Designation

Hybrid: Employee divides their time between in-office and remote work. Access to an office location is required. (Frequency: Minimum 2 days per week; may vary by team but will be weekly in-office expectation)

What you bring

Basic
  • 10+ years of experience in security compliance, IT audit, security risk management, or GRC, with at least 5+ years in people management and technical leadership roles
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Audit, Analytics, or a related field
  • Extensive, hands-on experience designing and leading audit programs across industry-standard frameworks, including SOC 1, SOC 2, ISO, PCI-DSS, IRAP, ISMAP, FedRAMP, etc
  • Experience transitioning manual compliance and testing programs into streamlined, evidence-automated products
  • Experience with security engineering, cloud-native architectures, SaaS security, and complex enterprise IT environments
  • Experience with GRC tools, control testing platforms, and continuous evidence automation solutions
  • Experience defining security KPIs, metrics pipelines, and executive reporting frameworks for board-level or C-suite discussions
  • Experience collaborating cross-functionally and engaging stakeholders across technical and business relationships, especially with Engineering, Product, Legal, and IT teams
  • Experience managing multiple, concurrent global audit engagements while serving as the primary liaison for regulatory bodies

Preferred
  • Deeply technical with strong strategic vision, tactical acumen, and excellence in execution
  • Advanced degree or relevant certifications (CISA, CISSP, CISM, CRISC, CDPSE, CGRC)
  • Experience scaling global compliance programs across diverse international regulatory environments (including FedRAMP, IRAP, ISMAP, etc.)
  • Familiarity with embedding GRC requirements into CI/CD pipelines (shift-left security) and shared responsibility models
  • Substantial experience driving automation strategies, predictive analytics, and data-driven insights within a GRC function
  • Track record of successfully managing cross-functional risk and compliance "Pods" or embedded security service models


Wage Transparency

Pay for this position is based on a number of factors including geographic location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Based on applicable legislation, the below details pay ranges in the following locations:

California: $212,100.00 - $342,650.00 base salary

This role is also eligible for the following:
  • Bonus: Sales personnel are eligible for variable incentive pay dependent on their achievement of pre-established sales goals. Non-Sales roles are eligible for a company bonus plan, which is calculated as a percentage of eligible wages and dependent on company performance.
  • Stock: This role is eligible to receive Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
