Job DescriptionWhat is the opportunity?The Director, Digital Assets Risk Governance, will oversee RBC's risk governance framework for digital assets. This role bridges cross-functional teams across Group Risk Management to develop cohesive risk policies, streamline risk assessment processes, and ensure consistent application of RBC's risk appetite
What will you do?Framework & Policy Development- Drive integration of Digital Assets-related risk identification and controls into enterprise structures - e.g. risk policies, risk tools, risk assessments and control inventory
- Facilitate the development of digital assets-specific risk policies and procedures
- Identify policy gaps across existing frameworks and recommend updates to ensure digital assets considerations are integrated consistently
Cross-Functional Coordination- Collaborate with teams across Group Risk Management, compliance, operations, and relevant business units to align risk governance
- Ensure digital assets risk policies complement and do not conflict with existing regulatory and operational frameworks
- Act as the central point of contact of across GRM in providing oversight on digital assets
Risk Assessment & Tools- Streamlined risk assessment processes for digital assets activities
- Identify opportunities for new or enhanced risk assessment tools and analytics capabilities
- Support ongoing monitoring and periodic review of digital assets risk exposures and related disclosures
What do you need to succeed?Must-Have:- 7+ years of relevant work experience in the financial industry
- Experience in Compliance, Risk, or Operations related to crypto/blockchain products, data, services
- Strong organizational awareness and ability to navigate complex matrix structures
- Curiosity and a passion to drive change and ideate outside of the box
- Demonstrated excellence in cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management
- Excellent verbal and written communication to variety of audiences, including the Board of Directors and senior risk and business executives
- Ability to demonstrate proficiency for critical thinking, problem solving skills, dealing with ambiguity
- Strategic thinking combined with strong execution capabilities
- Skilled at operating autonomously to achieve results in a dynamic environment
- Thrives in a dynamic organization where priorities shift to meet evolving business needs
- Strong financial acumen and ability to work with data
Nice-To-Have:- Familiarity with RBC's existing risk frameworks, with particular strength in operational risk and AML policies
