Responsibilities

The George Washington University Hospital (GWU Hospital) is a 385-bed tertiary care, academic medical center located in downtown Washington, DC next to the Foggy Bottom metro. GWU Hospital serves a diverse group of patients- from residents to our nation's leaders. As an academic medical center, GWU Hospital has the resources and clinical expertise necessary to provide specialized, complex care. Main tasks include:

Director of Radiation Oncology

Responsible for the clinical and administrative management of the GW Hospital Radiation Oncology program. Oversee all aspects of radiation oncology and assist with providing best in class service to the patients. Engages radiation oncologists and referring physicians to ensure service expectations are exceeded. Requires managerial skill to motivate team to achieve its short term and long-term goals. Provides updates to leadership on utilization of services and assists in planning for upcoming needs including enhancement to existing technology as needed. Provides leadership in executing plans for current fiscal year and develops financial plans for upcoming years. Provides education to radiation oncology employees about clinical best practices.

Qualification

  • Master's degree required. M.B.A. or M.H.A. required
  • Licensure/Certification: ARRT-T (ARRT Radiation Therapy) or CMD (Certified Medical Dosimetrist)is required
  • Minimum of three years of experience as a senior leader in a Radiation Oncology program
  • Required Minimum Skills: Extensive experience in personnel management, staffing models and team building. Self-directed and able to organize and complete several tasks / projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated skills in verbal and written communication. Ability to communicate in a culturally diverse environment.
  • Strong customer service skills, inter and intra departmental coordination of patient care activities and strong detail orientation.
