Summary
The Construction Manager will direct, coordinate, budget, and oversee the construction and maintenance activities conducted by field personnel for Small Cells, Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS), and general technology infrastructure projects (e.g., electrical, concrete, civil, wireless, structural modification, tower erection, generator installation). This role participates from conceptual development through organization, scheduling, and implementation to ensure project(s) are executed safely, on schedule, and within budget.
This is a Safety-Sensitive position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Upholds the Company's Core Value of Safety over production and above all other considerations.
- Conduct routine documented Site Visits (such as safety audits) of active projects (such as rooftops, towers, right-of-way installations) verifying that all safety-related items are in alignment with Company policy.
- Review Job Hazard Analysis (such as JHA) and other safety-related documentation to monitor compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Understand job specifications, blueprints, design drawings, plans, and scopes of work and develop or implement appropriate construction sequencing to ensure the project is executed safely and efficiently.
- Oversee the installation of DAS equipment, including indoor and outdoor antennas, coaxial cable, and couplers; ensure field requirements like line sweeps and PIM testing (Anritsu knowledge is a plus) are completed.
- Schedule project resources in logical steps while maintaining reasonable expectations in alignment with Company policy, budget, and customer deadlines or expectations.
- Confer with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, or design professionals to discuss and resolve matters such as work procedures, concerns, contract terms, or project-related issues.
- Assist the Project Manager in developing and/or validating project scope, bid packages, and overall costs for accurate, competitive bidding and budgeting purposes.
- Provide real-time project updates to include but not limited to progress, daily status reporting, and cost tracking.
- Work closely with the Project Manager to interpret plans and execute various scopes of work in accordance with contractual obligations.
- Develop contingency plans to minimize project delays (such as weather, material shortages, etc.) and investigate site damage or delays to ensure proper procedures are followed.
- Inspect or review projects to monitor compliance with applicable building codes and other local, state, and federal regulations.
- Direct, dispatch, and supervise internal and external resources (including Field Managers, on-site Foremen, and field crews) engaged in assigned projects.
- Coach, mentor, and train team members, direct reports, and less experienced DAS technicians by providing continual guidance, performance feedback, and training opportunities to foster professional growth.
- Complete project-related documentation in a timely manner; formulate progress, cost, and scheduling reports; develop and maintain accurate, complete project files.
- Requisition supplies or materials to complete construction projects.
- Recommend corrective actions for potentially serious situations, track resolutions, and communicate all issues to management prior to reaching critical status.
- Work with the Executive Management team to manage financial aspects of contracts to protect the company's interest and simultaneously maintain a good relationship with the customer.

Physical Demands
- Must be in good physical condition with the ability to stoop, crawl, bend at the knees and waist, squat and lift 20 pounds; includes body weight, equipment, tools and boxes regularly
- Must pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug testing and participate in random testing program
- May be required to work long and unpredictable hours
- Must possess valid driver's license
Minimum Qualifications
Technical Skills:
- Must have industry experience (i.e., electrical, tower, DAS, civil, etc.)
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and have basic computer skills
- Must understand construction management processes, methods and the ability to manage and work within a budget
- Must have knowledge of building products, construction details, and relevant rules, regulations, and quality standards
- Must be able to plan and see the "Big Picture"
Soft Skills:
- Communicate effectively in person and by phone with all site and company personnel.
- Ability to read, comprehend, and carry out complex instructions.
- Must be able to work harmoniously with a team, as well as independently when required.
- Must be able to lead, dispatch, and motivate construction crews to complete projects

Travel
Depending on market location and/or conditions, travel may be required. Travel requirements are subject to change.
Required Education and Experience
- Degree in construction or business management is preferred
- Five years' experience in tower construction management
- A strong understanding of Microsoft Excel spreadsheets and all other associated computer skills is a must
- Applicable experience in estimating, material procurement and logistics, project execution and close outs
