THE TEAM

The Cue Sheets and Music Administration team is part of Netflix’s Music Business & Legal organization within the Data, Tech, and Rights division. We are responsible for tracking and managing all music used across Netflix content globally, ensuring accurate cue sheet reporting and compliance with CMO obligations. We partner closely with productions, internal stakeholders, and our publishing administrator to support cue sheet creation and delivery and enable timely royalty distribution. Our team maintains high-quality music data while overseeing the administration and continued growth of Netflix’s music catalog.

THE ROLE

In this unique and exciting role, you will be responsible for vital components of our music cue sheet and music administration processes, and will have visibility into all facets of our music business. As a cue sheet expert, you know the exact process of using music in a production and understand the significance of synchronization licenses, publishing splits, IPI numbers, and PRO information. You have mastered the art of cue sheet preparation and review, and in your view, there is no cue sheet data that is too small or insignificant. You know how to review a composer agreement and synchronization license for pertinent cue sheet information and are effective in aligning music supervisors, music editors, and other production personnel to deliver proper cue sheet data. Your thorough understanding of why cue sheets matter results in a keen attention to detail and accuracy that you impart to everyone involved in the music production process. You are familiar and have achieved mastery of at least one of the many cue sheet tools currently available. In this role, you will be encouraged to actively contribute to cue sheet innovation as an ongoing goal, helping shape our global cue sheet administration and delivery strategy. This work requires a thoughtful, adaptable approach, as it involves driving alignment across regions, educating partners on evolving standards, and influencing adoption through clear, persuasive communication.

In this Role You Will:

  • Support and guide production partners on cue sheet reporting best practices, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely delivery.

  • Provide expertise on territory-specific reporting requirements, helping partners navigate regional nuances and drive global compliance through clear, flexible, and persuasive communication.

  • Review, process, and distribute cue sheets for our compelling Originals programming, including revising and, if needed, preparing cue sheets, as well as maintaining and improving our cue sheet database.

  • Partner closely with our publishing administrator to support the registration, administration, and ongoing management of Netflix’s global music catalog, including addressing claims, resolving inquiries, and ensuring accurate data for rights.

  • Participating in other projects specific to Netflix's music needs.

About You:

  • You will have at least 3-5 years of experience with music cue sheets, preferably in the music department at a film/television studio, television network, or production company. Knowledge of the music clearance process for recordings and publishing is a plus

  • Possess mastery of one or more cue sheet tools (RapidCue, Cuetrak, Soundmouse) with an ability and desire to work with other cue sheet platforms and formats

  • Unparalleled organizational skills and unwavering attention to detail

  • A clear, concise communicator with excellent interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work proactively, independently, and reliably on multiple projects under tight timeframes in a fast-paced production environment

  • Highly collaborative and curious, with the ability to be fluid and respond positively to change and new ideas

  • Ability to pivot quickly and be resourceful, think practically, and be solution-oriented

  • Have curiosity and eagerness to tackle additional projects as needed, and tackle matters outside our area of expertise

  • Tech-savvy individual proficient in Gmail and Google Suite with a strong sense of how cloud-based document and database systems are used in a modern business environment
