About the Role- Job Title:Construction Mechanical Engineer
- Location: Des Moine, Iowa
- Summary:The role of the Construction MEP Engineer requires strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills, ability to self-direct, strong background in data center design, engineering, controls, and operational requirements, and deep experience and expertise in electrical and mechanical systems. This role will provide leadership of all field-related MEP mission-critical activities and coordinate with DCD PM and subcontractors for proper execution.
Job Responsibilities- Research, design, develop, manufacture, and test tools, engines, machines, and other MEP devices.
- Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals to determine time and cost feasibility to complete projects.
- Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation and make recommendations to the maintenance crew.
- Assist drafters in developing the structural design of products using tools, equipment, or software.
Skills- Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Team player and detail-oriented.
- Ability to make sketches, engineering drawings, and common computations.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.
- Previous experience with computer applications and software related to the engineering field, such as Computer-Aided Design (CAD).
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
- 10+ years of experience required.
Desired QualificationsMechanical Engineer with data center experience with preferable liquid cooling data center experience.
LocationExplain a typical day in the role- Support for DSM45 and 18 builds from a Mechanical Engineer perspective for owner's representative. This will coordinate with DCE and DCD for any mechanical design questions and RFIs to EOR. They will also inspect installed mechanical systems for compliance with drawings and specifications.
Salary and Other Compensation:The annual salary for this position is between $150,000 - $200,000 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
