Full Job Description
GCyber is seeking a Configuration Manager, to help support a mission-focused federal IT modernization effort that is building and integrating secure digital capabilities in a classified environment. The program uses an Agile delivery model and a technology environment centered on ServiceNow, Elastic, AWS, Red Hat, and supporting integration technologies such as Kafka. The Configuration Manager will establish disciplined baseline control and release governance across a complex environment spanning development through secure production. The role combines technical understanding with strong process leadership and cross-functional coordination.

As the Configuration Manager, you will
  • Own configuration management plans, release procedures, baseline controls, governance models, change workflows, calendars, readiness criteria, deployment windows, cutover plans, rollback plans, and post-release validation.
  • Coordinate release planning and execution across software engineering, DevOps, cloud, data, test, cyber, IA, infrastructure, operations, network automation, service management, customers, and partners.
  • Facilitate configuration control boards, release readiness reviews, go or no-go decisions, deployment coordination, and retrospectives.
  • Ensure release packages are complete, reviewed, traceable, approved, and supported by code, configurations, test evidence, security scans, deployment instructions, rollback plans, and release notes.
  • Maintain traceability across requirements, defects, risks, decisions, versions, environments, and changes using Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket or Git, and associated CI/CD tools.
  • Control software, scripts, infrastructure as code, data pipelines, schemas, dashboards, integrations, interfaces, automation workflows, COTS and FOSS components, security configurations, manifests, and runbooks.
  • Maintain environment baselines across development, test, simulation, IL5 or IL6 targets, and operational systems.
  • Partner with DevOps to implement controlled promotion, versioning, approval gates, automated tests, artifact retention, and auditable deployment evidence.
  • Track and communicate release scope, readiness, risks, dependencies, blockers, defects, deployment progress, outcomes, and health indicators.
  • Improve CM and release processes and provide practical training and guidance across engineering and operations teams.
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance
  • Ability to obtain and maintain any additional customer suitability approvals required for the position.
  • DoD 8570/8140 IAT II certification (i.e., Security+, CCNA-Security, CND, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP)
  • Early-stage flexibility with partial telework during initial development phases
  • Full-time on-site presence at secure facility in Washington, DC will be required as the program matures
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively across technical, operational, security, and customer teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline, additional relevant experience may be considered in place of a degree.
  • Eight years of relevant experience; additional relevant experience may be considered in place of a degree.
  • Demonstrated experience leading configuration management, change control, deployment coordination, release governance, or baseline management for complex cloud, software, or mission systems.
  • Experience developing CM and release plans, facilitating approval reviews, coordinating multiple environments, and managing deployment and rollback documentation.
  • Experience with Agile and DevOps workflows, Jira, Confluence, Git or Bitbucket, CI/CD, artifact management, branching, automated testing, and promotion pipelines.
  • Ability to understand complex technical dependencies and impose clear, auditable control without obstructing delivery.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with AWS GovCloud, IL5 or IL6, ServiceNow, Elastic or Kibana, Kafka, Logstash, Databricks, Watson AIOps, network or cyber data sources, or infrastructure as code.
  • Experience with STIGs, vulnerability remediation, security scan evidence, privileged access, audit support, COTS and FOSS management, and federal or DoD cyber processes.
  • Experience with ITIL, SAFe, Scrum, PMP, CMMI, ISO 9001, or comparable delivery and quality frameworks.
