Description

We're looking for a Community and Events Program Manager to lead the strategy and daily operations of Tech School's educator community. You'll drive engagement, strengthen teacher relationships, and manage both online and in-person events to ensure educators and students feel supported, connected, and celebrated.

Please note that this is a hybrid position of 3 days/week in our NYC office.

About The Role

  • Build and maintain project plans, timelines, and cross-functional workstreams to ensure seamless delivery across Tech School initiatives
  • Own the strategy, operations, and daily management of Tech School's educator community - including engagement, communication, and feedback collection
  • Lead our online teacher community (Slack): post regular updates, moderate conversations, answer questions, and foster inclusive, values-aligned dialogue
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for teacher-facing communication, aligning across instructors, curriculum, and logistics
  • Plan and execute in-person and virtual programming for teachers and students - including monthly program days, guest speaker events, and creative workshops
  • Coordinate training sessions for educators throughout the school year in collaboration with internal and external facilitators
  • Partner cross-functionally with teams including Legal, Workplace, Design, and Brand to ensure seamless execution of community initiatives and events
  • Design internal recognition moments for teachers - such as All Hands spotlights, newsletters, or content features - that celebrate success and amplify impact
  • Monitor and analyze engagement metrics, community health, and participation data to inform program improvements and reporting
  • Contribute to a strong, consistent community voice and brand across all educator-facing touchpoints


Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in community management, youth programming, or event production
  • Proven ability to manage complex programs from planning through execution - including timelines, communications, and stakeholder coordination
  • Track record of managing online communities (Slack preferred), including conversation moderation and engagement strategy design
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills - you know how to build trust and connection through content
  • Demonstrated ability to lead events, run the room, and create inclusive, welcoming experiences
  • Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and cross-functional workstreams with clarity and calm
  • Strong design and storytelling sensibility - you make content feel cohesive, on-brand, and community-centered
  • Familiarity with NYC public schools or youth-serving organizations is a strong advantage.
  • Self-starter with a collaborative spirit and a passion for bringing people together

For New York City-based hires only: Compensation Range: $100,000-$120,000 base salary, subject to standard withholding and applicable taxes. In addition to base salary, the role includes the opportunity to receive and/or earn a discretionary bonus and/or equity-based on Company's plans and in accordance with Company's policies. Compensation finally awarded to the candidate will be commensurate with the candidate's skills and experience. Compensation ranges for candidates in locations outside of New York City may differ based on the cost of labor and such additional factors for such other locations.
