Role: Analyst; Business Systems Location: Washington, DC 20260 Position: 1 Role Overview: We are seeking an experienced Business Systems Analyst with 5 to 7 years of experience in technology or software development. The ideal candidate will have strong business analysis, requirements management, software development lifecycle, project management, testing, database, and analytics experience. The candidate will work closely with business and technical stakeholders to gather and manage requirements, support IT projects, analyze business processes, coordinate Agile and Waterfall initiatives, and help ensure successful delivery of technology solutions. Required Certification: Candidates should have one of the following: • Project Management Professional certification • Scrum Master certification Key Responsibilities: • Gather, analyze, document, and manage business and system requirements • Work with business stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into clear functional requirements • Create requirements documentation, user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and supporting business analysis artifacts • Manage requirements throughout the software development lifecycle • Support requirements traceability from business needs through development, testing, and implementation • Work closely with development, QA, project management, and business teams throughout the delivery lifecycle • Support IT projects using both Agile and Waterfall methodologies • Participate in project planning, status reporting, issue tracking, risk management, and stakeholder communication • Analyze business processes and identify opportunities for improvement • Support software testing activities and collaborate with QA teams to validate requirements and application functionality • Work with testing tools such as UFT, Selenium, or similar technologies • Support database analysis and development of analytics solutions • Work with Oracle SQL, Teradata, MicroStrategy, and related data and analytics technologies • Develop and analyze reports and data to support business decisions • Use Microsoft 365 tools to create documentation, reports, presentations, project plans, workflows, and analytics • Support project teams with planning, coordination, documentation, and delivery activities • Facilitate meetings and working sessions with technical and non technical stakeholders • Track project requirements, decisions, action items, risks, and dependencies • Ensure project deliverables align with business requirements and organizational standards • Identify and communicate project risks, gaps, dependencies, and potential impacts Required Skills: • 5 to 7 years of experience in technology or software development • Strong Business Analyst experience • Experience gathering, analyzing, documenting, and managing requirements • Experience with requirements management tools such as ALM, VersionOne, JIRA, or Confluence • Experience with software testing tools such as UFT or Selenium • Experience with database tools and analytics solutions • Experience with MicroStrategy • Strong Oracle SQL experience • Experience with Teradata • Experience with Microsoft 365 tools • Strong experience with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Access, Visio, Teams, Workflow, and Power BI • Experience with Software Development Lifecycle methodologies • Experience with USPS Technical Solution Lifecycle is preferred • Experience leading or managing IT projects • Experience with both Waterfall and Agile methodologies • Strong analytical and problem solving skills • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Strong stakeholder management and facilitation skills Preferred Skills: • Certified Business Analysis Professional certification • USPS Technical Solution Lifecycle experience • Mail.DAT experience • Mail.XML experience • Experience with electronic data exchange and mailing information standards • Experience with AI based or AI assisted automation testing • Experience supporting large scale enterprise or government technology programs • Experience with project management and Scrum practices • Experience with requirements traceability and test management Education Requirement: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Information Technology, or another science related field. Note: Four years of additional relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
