We are hiring for a DB2 LUW Database Administrator opportunity. Role: DB2 LUW Database Administrator Location: Remote Position: 1 Role Overview: We are seeking an experienced DB2 LUW Database Administrator to join a project team supporting enterprise database environments in a hybrid delivery model. The ideal candidate will have strong hands on experience with DB2 LUW administration across Linux, Unix, and Windows environments, along with database migration, SQL development, performance tuning, scripting, and data modeling. The candidate will work closely with application development teams to understand technical and business requirements, provide database services, support database design, maintain operational stability, and contribute to cloud migration initiatives. Key Responsibilities: • Administer and maintain DB2 LUW database environments across on premises and cloud platforms • Create and configure DB2 LUW instances and databases across Linux, Unix, and Windows environments • Support database environments throughout development, testing, and production • Create and manage database objects based on application requirements • Perform database object migration and data conversion activities • Support application development teams with database design and technical requirements • Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into appropriate database solutions • Perform database migrations to cloud based platforms • Support operational stability, database availability, and ongoing maintenance • Develop and execute SQL queries and database scripts • Perform query performance analysis and database tuning • Develop and maintain Linux and Unix shell scripts for database administration and operational activities • Use shell commands, crontab, and vi editor for database administration and automation activities • Support database design and logical and physical data modeling • Troubleshoot database issues and provide effective technical solutions • Collaborate with project teams using established tools, technologies, and delivery methodologies • Manage multiple priorities and deliver database activities according to project timelines • Participate in flexible work schedules when required to support project and operational needs Required Skills: • Strong experience with DB2 LUW database administration • Solid understanding of RDBMS concepts • Experience creating and managing DB2 LUW instances and databases • Experience working with DB2 LUW on Linux, Unix, and Windows environments • Experience supporting both on premises and cloud database environments • Strong Linux and Unix shell scripting experience • Experience with shell commands, crontab, and vi editor • Experience creating and managing database objects • Experience with database object migration and data conversion • Strong SQL and PL/SQL knowledge • Experience with query performance tuning and optimization • Experience with logical and physical data modeling • Strong database troubleshooting and problem solving skills • Strong organizational and multitasking skills • Ability to prioritize activities and work according to project timelines • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Ability to work effectively within a hybrid delivery model Preferred Skills: • Experience with AWS cloud infrastructure • Experience with AWS RDS • Experience with Red Hat Linux • Experience with DB2 partitioning • Experience with IBM DB2 PureScale • Experience with DB2 Federation setup • Experience supporting cloud database modernization initiatives • Experience with database migration to AWS environments • Experience working with enterprise application development teams Education Requirement: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
