Job Title: Business Intelligence Reporting/ Web Developer

Locations: Hybrid: Fort Worth, TX | Jacksonville, FL | New York, NY | Sacramento, CA

Get To Know The Team:

The BI Reporting & Web Developer is a hybrid technical role within the Unique Assets Development team, responsible for both enterprise reporting and client-facing web development. The developer will design and maintain SSRS reports and Power BI dashboards that surface trust accounting data to internal and external stakeholders, while also contributing to web-based applications and tools that support the team’s broader platform. 

This role requires strong SQL skills, hands-on SSRS and Power BI experience, and proven web development capability. The ideal candidate is comfortable moving between reporting and application development work, communicates well with business stakeholders, and thrives in a regulated financial systems environment. 

What You Will Get To Do:

BI Report Development & Delivery 

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy SSRS reports for internal stakeholders, client-facing statements, and regulatory outputs 
  • Build and maintain Power BI dashboards with drill-down, filtering, and KPI visualizations 
  • Translate business requirements from BAs, operations, and management into accurate, well-documented reporting solutions 
  • Manage SSRS subscriptions, permissions, and scheduled report delivery 
  • Ensure report accuracy and consistency with source data and business rules 

Web Development 

  • Design and develop web applications and internal tools in support of the Unique Assets platform 
  • Build responsive, accessible front-end interfaces using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (VueJS, React or Angular preferred) 
  • Leverage AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, and similar platforms) to accelerate web development, improve code quality, automate repetitive tasks, and enhance productivity while adhering to established coding standards and security best practices 
  • Collaborate with the broader development team on architecture, code reviews, and best practices 
  • Apply version control (Git) and participate in SDLC processes including code review and QA 

Data & SQL Development 

  • Write complex T-SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and functions to support reporting and application data needs 
  • Optimize query performance for large financial and trust accounting datasets 
  • Work with data warehouses, OLTP databases, and staging environments to source and shape data 
  • Collaborate with DBAs to ensure data quality, integrity, and access patterns are maintained 

Collaboration & Requirements 

  • Partner with business analysts, QA, and operations staff through requirements gathering, UAT, and post-deployment validation 
  • Engage stakeholders on adjacent legacy systems (e.g. Rocket Universe) to understand source data structure and lineage ahead of SQL replication 
  • Document report logic, data sources, API contracts, and field definitions for maintainability 
  • Support end-users with report and application questions, training, and ad hoc analysis 

What You Will Bring:

  • 3+ years of hands-on SSRS report development in a production environment 
  • 2+ years of Power BI development) 
  • 3+ years of SQL Server development with strong T-SQL proficiency 
  • 2+ years of web application development with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and at least one modern front-end framework (VueJS, React or Angular strongly preferred) 
  • Experience working in financial services, trust accounting, wealth management, or another regulated industry preferred 

Technical Skills 

  • SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) — paginated reports, subscriptions, RDL authoring, Report Builder 
  • Power BI — Desktop, Service, DAX, Power Query, dataflows, row-level security 
  • T-SQL — stored procedures, CTEs, window functions, query tuning and execution plan analysis 
  • Web — HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+), React or Angular, REST API integration 
  • SQL Server — SSMS, profiler, database objects 
  • Source control — Git-based workflows, branching, pull requests 
  • Data modeling fundamentals (star schema, normalization) 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience with trust accounting or financial portfolio management platforms 
  • Familiarity with data conversion and ETL processes 
  • Familiarity with legacy database platforms such as Rocket Universe (UniData/UniVerse) for source data analysis 
  • Experience with server-side web technologies (.NET, Node.js, or similar) 
  • Understanding of TDD and automated testing practices in a regulated software environment 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, or a related field; or equivalent professional experience

Actual base salary will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to relevant skills, prior experience, education, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.

New York: The expected base salary for the position is between 105,000.00 USD to 135,000.00 USD. California: The expected base salary for the position is between 105,000.00 USD to 135,000.00 USD.

 

 

In addition, employees in this role may be eligible for consideration on an annual basis for a discretionary bonus and/or equity awards, such as restricted stock units or stock options, based upon individual and business performance at the company’s discretion.
