Responsibilities

Peraton is hiring a full-time Data Architect to support data-driven decision-making for critical missions within Peraton's Risk Decision Group.

 

This position will be 100% remote.

 

This role focuses on designing, developing, and optimizing analytic solutions to support mission-critical applications. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in data preparation, visualization, and automation, with hands-on experience in Tableau Prep, Tableau Desktop, Tableau Server, Power BI, SQL, and Python. This role will be responsible for transforming raw data into meaningful insights, developing scalable dashboards, and supporting enterprise reporting initiatives. This position will be 100% remote.

 

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain advanced dashboards and reports using Tableau Desktop and Power BI.
  • Develop advanced T-SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, views, and triggers.
  • Develop and optimize data workflows and ETL processes using Tableau Prep and Python.
  • Manage content, permissions, data sources, and performance tuning within Tableau Server.
  • Write complex SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and analyze structured and unstructured data.
  • Collaborate with business partners to understand data needs and deliver actionable insights.
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and quality through rigorous validation and testing.
  • Support BI governance, documentation, and best practices across the analytics environment.
  • Automate recurring reporting tasks using Python or SQL-based solutions.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a T5/SSBI federally adjudicated clearance
  • Minimum of 5 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 3 years with MS/MA; 0 years with PhD
  • Expertise in Tableau Prep, Tableau Desktop, and Tableau Server administration.
  • Strong proficiency in Power BI, including DAX, data modeling, and workspace management.
  • Advanced SQL skills with experience querying large datasets.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing, creating, implementing, and optimizing database indexes to improve query performance.
  • Hands on experience with database performance tuning, including analyzing query execution plans, identifying performance bottlenecks, optimizing SQL queries, and recommending solutions to improve database performance.
  • Working experience using Python for data cleaning, transformation, and automation.
  • Hands-on experience designing, developing, and supporting an Enterprise Data Warehouse.
  • Expertise in business analytics and translating complex data into clear actionable insights for non-technical users.
  • Hands-on experience with creating SOP’s and extensive documentation for workflows and processes.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Experience using R for statistical modeling or advanced analytics.
  • Knowledge of APIs, scripting, or workflow orchestration tools.
  • Experience with version control systems such as Git.
  • Familiarity with data governance, metadata management, or enterprise BI strategy.
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, or GCP) for data storage, compute, or analytics.

  • Strong collaboration skills across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Clear documentation and communication in fast-paced environments.

Target Salary Range$66,000 - $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
